Profile: Geneviève was born Ginette Marguerite Auger in Paris on April 17, 1920 and died March 14th, 2004 at her home in Los Angeles.
She became popular in the US after her debut appearance on the Jack Paar Show in November of 1957. As noted in her New York Times obituary, she is: "...best remembered for her unfailing ability to mangle the English language during regular appearances on Jack Paar's ''Tonight Show...'' Previous to arriving in America she had run a small night club in Paris named "Chez Geneviève", which had opened in 1949. Profile: Cruciferius were a French jazz-rock/psych band. Founded in Paris in 1967 by Bernard Paganotti (bass, vocals) and Christian Vander (drums) with the name Cruciférius Lobonz De Prazdek. At the beginning they played psychedelic soul. A few months later, however, Vander left to form Magma and Patrick Jean took his place. In 1968 the name was shortened to Cruciférius. After an intense live activity (among which three months in Japan) the band in May 1969 recorded at the Studios Barclay & Studio Davout, both in Paris, their only one album "A Nice Way Of Life" (1970). Disbanded in the early months of 1970.

Between 1959 – 1964 he recorded under the name Paul Mauriat And His Orchestra, then in 1965 founded Le Grand Orchestre De Paul Mauriat and signed to Philips for the next 28 years.

French model, singer, lyricist, TV host, actress and painter. Contested facts about her biography include her birth date (cited as 18 November 1939, also 1941, 1946, 1948 and 1950) and place (Hong Kong, Saigon or Hanoi), the gender she was assigned at birth, names and nationalities of her parents (French-English father and an Asian-Russian mother), and the location of her upbringing.
She was raised in the South of France and moved to Paris to make a career in painting. She became a top model, a fixture of the mid 1960s Swinging London and one of Salvador Dalí's muses, who's said to have coined her stage name / public persona ("L'Amant de Dalí" - Dalí's lover). She dated Brian Jones in 1966 and was briefly engaged to Bryan Ferry from Roxy Music, for whom she posed as "the lady with the panther" on the cover of their 2nd album Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure (1973). After a brief affair, David Bowie advised her to try her luck as a singer.
From the mid-1970s to the early 1980s, she was a million-album-selling disco queen, mainly in Continental Europe and Scandinavia. To get started as a singer and to have her audience intrigued, Lear herself harnessed a rumour about her assigned gender at birth - a subject that obsessed Salvador Dalí, whom she considered her spiritual father. Lear would frequently deny the allegations about her transgender identity yet at the same time referred to them in her songs Fabulous (Lover, Love Me), If I Was A Boy or I'm A Mistery (deliberately misspelled as to reference the word "mister"). Since the early 1980s she has presented TV shows in Italy, France and Germany and is a theatre actress.

French composer, arranger and conductor of popular and classical music born august 11, 1913 in Marseille and died on November 12, 2000 (Parkinson's disease) in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He immigrated to the U.S.A. in 1950. In 1959, his version of "Only You" sold over a million copies. He recorded until 1995.
From an album cover what I posted last time: It would be impossible to hang a generation tag on Franck Pourcel, for the music which he arranges and conducts radiates the same youth, the same now, the same zing as the sports cars that are Franck's spare-time hobby. Pourcel, who has quietly and without personal publicity stunts, sold nearly 20,000,000 records, has once and for all exploded the myth that young people don't care about good music. Wrapped in a package of contemporary feeling and tied with ribbons of fantastic musicianship, Pourcel's albums have one after another connected soundly with the Now Generation. Pourcel's striking arrangements not only appeal to their ears, but constantly surprise those ears with new kinds of sounds, with highs and lows from which they've been sheltered by more conservative arrangers. Plays a cool version of the 'POP CORN' tune written originally in 1969 by Gershon Kingsley then covered by a New Wave band Hot Butter and made famous in the eighties.

They split and reformed several times, each time with new line-ups accompanying the founding couple of Gabriel and Marie Yacoub. In 1988 the duo split and Malicorne stopped for good with the promise to “never start again”.
However in 2010, Gabriel Yacoub was to play at the Festival Les Francofolies de La Rochelle and invited the other original members of Malicorne for a special one-off concert. This went so well, that Gabriel and Marie (now Sauvet) reconvened as Gabriel Et Marie De Malicorne in November 2011 to perform the Almanach repertoire with new musicians. By September 2012, the band changed its name into Malicorne again, continued to perform live, and announced new recording projects.

Initially called "Tri Yann An Naoned" (="Trois Jean De Nantes" ["Three Jean of Nantes"] in Breton language), they soon shorten their name to Tri Yann and gained enormous success in Brittany and France.
