EXUMA - st CD 70 w st II CD 70 w Do Wah Nanny CD 71 w Reincarnation CD 72 w Snake CD 72
A big thanks to Jon for helping me gather these files at my request after hearing of him for the first time a few weeks ago with the Soul! compilation post. All see above motion picture soundtrack post for 'Joe' with Jerry Butler. Per Discogs: Real Name: Macfarlane Gregory Anthony Mackey
Profile:Bahamian artist, also known as Tony McKay (the Obeah Man). Born in Cat Island 18 February 1942, died 25 January 1997. He grew up on Canaan Lane, off Shirley Street, Nassau, Bahamas.
Drawing on the traditional Bahamian folk songs, the infectious beat of Junkanoo, ring play, myths and linguistic idioms, Exuma, through his musical recordings, performances and paintings, has promoted Bahamian heritage and extended Bahamian music throughout the world more so than any other contemporary Bahamian recording artist.

VA - SOUL! LP 73
This is part two of our Claude 'Coffe' Cave tribute as it was the only listing at Discogs for him. However, the song here is a Mandrill song he wrote and is main vocalist on called "Hang Loose"--a slightly different version than was posted on the Mandrill post. This has some great previously posted songs here but also new gems to consider. Features: James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Osibisa, All Dyrections, (name used by the Skull Snaps for quick cash in cover version of Soul Makossa), Sons Of Slum, Exuma, Joe Tex, The Staple Singers, Leon Thomas and The Rance Allen Group!

The Calypsonians - Back In Bimini With The Calypsonians
REPOST Request: Here's one from the blog creator Mark and what he wrote before: Here's a tape I got on one of my trips to Bimini,Bahamas.Located about 60 miles off my coast,it was an easy journey by boat. There is nothing to do there but fish & booze up.The place to go back in those days was the Compleat Angler Hotel, that's where I saw this band. This tape brings back memories of the hot sun burning a hole in my back as I sweat myself silly pulling in fish & the burned out nights drinking gin until we could barely drag ourselves back to the boat & then do it all over again the next day.Enjoy!
