DAVID LYNCH [R.I.P.] [Jan. 20th, 1946 born - Jan. 15th, 2025]

 After seeing the post last weekend at my brother in blogging Nathan Nothin's blogspot (see below right column link in blogroll), I knew I had to post something in memorial for this highly influential artist.  As I was starting to take the bus downtown from the very first enclosed mall in the USA and from Junior High School was getting in the Uptown "McDonald's Punks" which is where they hung out and at Lake Harriet we all were at the upper balcony of the Uptown Theater one Saturday night for the midnight movie double header of 'Eraserhead" and 'Freaks" and were quite a rowdy bunch just discovering what it was like to be punk rock.  Our neighborhood friend group had just introduced me to 'Blue Velvet" and later would watch Twin Peaks together along with the movies.  That very first viewing of 'Blue Velvet" (also later 'River's Edge" by others but still very influential to me) really set the stage for our artistic tastes and aspirations to follow.  For this post, like most of his movies, I most recently stream-captured on my Pinnacle device one of David Lynch’s later films from 1999 called "The Straight Story" so I thought I would share it.  Also re-upped my Julee Cruise (soothing vocals from Twin Peaks that can help us all take the blow of  his death) and Chris Isaak posts (did 'Wicked Game" hit tune from hit movie 'Wild At Heart").  Long live the master!

THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND LIVE 1991 The Full Moon Show w Robbie Robertson

 No sooner did I read that the Allman Brothers really didn't leave behind very much live video concerts and then I find this Goodwill DVD in my stacks of an incredible live show from 1991 in MA with none other than our favorite around here Robbie Robertson from the Band showing up at the end to say a few words as the host of this excellent Japanese TV series.  A little treat for the weekend with CREAM mp4 below since it was a successful rip last night.  Enjoy!!!         https://gofile.io/d/1E0ZuU

Roger Waters and band THE WALL BERLIN 1990 MP4

 Well since it was Labor Day and also I forgot my album and CD picture files on Tuesday at work where I label stuff at my desk, I am running a couple days late this week on posts so I decided to bring in these excellent VHS that I got all at Good Will and stream-captured on my Pinnacle device to MP4.  Some really great music history here and I have plenty more from long ago as I have been a bootlegger my whole life and used to have two different youtube channels, "CorridorsofPower' and 'Viacomclosedmedown' which they did a second time and I haven't looked back since....perhaps a project to do with one of my nieces or nephews in the future.  This here video starts it off and will be posting some great stuff tomorrow like Gordon Lightfoot, ELP and the American Breed.

A Blues Session - B.B. King And Friends MP4

 This one is really great as it features along with B.B. King (who Michael Bloomfiend repeatedly had stated was the guitarist he most tried to emulate), Phil Collins on Drums, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Bill Deville, Dr. John, Etta James, Gladys Knight and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  Incredible!!!

JERRY BUTLER - Mr. Dream Merchant LP 67 w offering The Spice Of Life 2LP 72 w Sweet Sixteen LP 74 w American Soundtrack - 40 Years Of R&B 1962- 2002 EIGHT EPISODES FROM PBS SPECIAL MP4's

Well I had never heard of Jerry Butler until I moved down to Florida and my buddy Antonio from Rocket Star Record store had acquired the rest of an old stores collection having these three vinyl.  Then not long ago, I found all these VHS at Goodwill for a PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) old TV special in at least 8 parts based out of Pittsburgh (I live by the Pirates spring training field so maybe that is why I got lucky and found this stuff) hosted mainly by Jerry Butler.  He has been around since the 50's in music but the stuff I found is excellent soul from the 70's mainly.  I spent half a day this past weekend on side one but I had to get his 'famous' one Mr. Dream Merchant into minty shape. Thus no CD's this week.  Tons of soul/bebop/r'N b artists that I have posted in the past show up.

Mister Rogers Talks About Dinosaurs and Monsters (Full Length Feature) (1979) (1986)

 Here is one for you nostalgia buffs like me for HALLOWEEN!  I used to watch Mr. Rogers show with Sesame Street and Electric Company on TV in the pre-kindergarten years so looking at it now after sooooo many years was a cool treat for me.  I have a Mr. Green Jeans VHS rip I did as well but not related to the holiday like this one is so maybe later.  Enjoy!     https://gofile.io/d/RBInqa

Now this here is a short little classic of a movie parody.  I remember growing up after Star Wars came out in 1977 and next year this popped up in our local library where you could watch it next to the microfiche viewer.  Kind of had an underground following in our little neighborhood of kids.

The Blank Generation - The Birth Of Punk VHS Rip 1976

REPOST:  As promised earlier in the week as part of our week long Patti Smith 70th birthday celebration (let's focus on celebrating life this year after getting out of last year alive!).  I had ripped this on my rare early model Pinnacle device to a newer memory stick with USB 3.0 and I just learned that was causing a shift between sound and picture with extra static but going back to a USB 2.0 stick fixed the problem I just figured out!  So last rip was bad but so as you couldn't tell due to this 'art film' already had static at the start but now it should all line up.  Features:  Patti Smith, Ramones, Television, Talking Heads, Wayne County, Richard Hell, Marbles, Heartbreakers, Blondie, Harry Toledo, Tuff Darts, Miamis, Dolls, Shirts with special thanks to Hilly Krystal.  Split into 4 parts but you get Joiner freeware to rejoin as one...very handy program you don't find everywhere.  MP4 file.

BAND OF THE HAND - VA 1986

Since I had the VHS Rip from long ago also, I posted it.  The Reds are all over this soundtrack as well as Tom Petty producing the title track featuring Bob Dylan with back-up band Petty's Heartbreakers,  Andy Summers from the Police, Shriekback, Michel Rubini and Tiger Tiger.  As usual, the MP4 file joiner freeware is in the last file of the video segments.
