Ellen Shipley - st LP 79 w Breaking Through The Ice Age LP 80 w Call Of The Wild LP 83

REPOST Request:  What I wrote before:  She was quite well connected with lots of guest musicians like Good Rats drummer, Rick Derringer guitar, backing vocalists like Desmond Child with partner Rouge on a different album, Hall and Oates, Rose Stone, Chic female vocalist, etc. etc.

I love all three of these albums, particularly "Breaking Through the Ice Age." Her voice reminds me a lot of Ellen Foley's -- two small (well, short) ladies with very big voices! The song on this album that always gets to me is "Lost Without Your Love." The lyrics -- and her vocal delivery -- are very heartfelt. And "Heart To Heart" is one of THE great undiscovered pop songs of the 80s!

I had no doubt that the first album would be no worse than the subsequent ones! Wonderful performer! And the last track Over the Edge reminded me of how I experimented with skateboarding while listening to the wild roar of the Wipers guitars! Thank a lot!
