Kitty Wells - This White Circle on My Finger 7"
Kitty Wells passed away yesterday at the age of 92. I know most of you don't probably have a clue who she was or how much she meant to real country music, and that's a real shame.
She was born Ellen Muriel Deason in Nashville, TN in 1919. Her musical career spanned mostly from the 50'-70's. Her biggest hit was "It wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels," which was a response to Hank Thompson's song "The Wild Side of Life."
I wish I could find my copy of that song, but I can't so this undated seven inch will have to do. It was released by Decca.
Rest in Peace Kitty Wells 1919-2012
