Old Fishing Clips ~ Me Fishing Chub Cay Bahamas '89

The Fish In The Video Are Wahoo 40 Lbs & Mutton Snapper 10 Lbs.
We caught alot more fish on that week trip. This is the only video I have left.

Wahoo are the fastest fish in the ocean, they generally take the bait at 60 to 70 miles per hour. They are also one of the only fish to have both top and bottom movable jaws to go with their razor sharp teeth.

Mutton Snapper are bottom dwellers. An ok fight but mainly caught for their fine flesh.
Both fish are great eating. The guy at the end is my old Captain,Buddy (he looked like a sun-burned Santa Claus).

I'm quite proud of my Fishing expertise.I'm not one usually overly proud of any skill but my skills have been honed since I was 3 ;)

Get It Here (if your interested lol)

.
I'm not God.But...I am God of fishing :)

Man you made me hungry for some o' that fresh fish mmmmmmmm boy! I tell you what gimme some of that Wahoo fish! Ever 'plank' up that fish when you cook it? I really haven't had any real exotic fish lately, but a past favorite was Sea Robin. Thanks for sharin bud!>RG

P.S. I heard a story once about a family water skiing The Flaming George Reservoir (be interesting to find out how it got that name lol) up near the Wyoming/Utah line/borders. The place is really known for its Trout-whatever.
As the husband was skiing behind, she wiped-out bad and lost three fingers in a fight with the propeller! They only found two that day. Well about seven months after the accident the wife was told about an angler finding a thumb in the belly of a trout! A coroner proved it was his finger. The story is that Lindsay (the guys name) keeps it in formaldehyde in a jar up on a shelf. cool huh?>>Rg

RG,Wahoo is steaked.
Cut right down that biznich.
No filets

Euu..man that's a horror story lol.
I've seen some shit no doubt.
Sharks specifically. You wouldn't belive what them stupid fish swallow.

I've caught some interesting critters.
Shark wise...my biggest is about 1200 lbs Tiger brought to the boat.
Let me tell you...that's a scary thing to bring boatside.
I miss that so bad.
Price of life killed my personal fishin mission.
I'm hoping one day a millionaire will want to hire me.
I'm known so I have hope :)

What's a FL charter cost nowadays? I think they're like $800 around here for a full day. Lots of Sharks in the cold NA. I'm supposed to head out soon with my bar pal for a day.
Call me old fashioned, but Blues are the most fun I've ever had. Like the Jack Russels of salt water.

Frank Mundus rocks!A fishermans hero.

I'm not sure what the cost to charter is anymore.Back when I was working the boats gas/diesel was alot cheaper.
I think it was about $650 for the day back then. It's gotta be close to a thousand now.

By blues I take it you mean Blue Shark.I've never caught one of those. They don't make it down here.Cold water shark.
Bluefish are fun too :)
Chompers...

Hi man, I come from a long line of master (sport) fishmen and I know a thing or two about this shit. Deepsea (i.e. in the North Sea), inland lake fishing, ice fishing -you name it! Well to be honest never really tried fly-fishing (is that the name in English? Butterfly-fishing perhaps?) nor like the Finns (i.e. tnt-fishing)...hah.

Slobo, that's cool.Didn't know you had salt in yer veins ;)

Whoa,North Sea is brutal.
I do alot of lake fishing too.
I have one in the backyard so it's not too hard to keep up on.
Largemouth & Peacock Bass.Snook & Tarpon. Also some giant Grass Carp.

I've never Ice fished.
I've seen on TV,it looks strange to sit in one area and let the fish come to you.I'd definatly give it a go.
I've never used explosives either. That kills the sport :(

It is called Fly Fishing.
I've done it.It's for eletist types. It's a major pain in the ass, hard to master and requires alot of room (trees overhead ain't gonna work lol).

When I worked the charter fleet here we used alot of kites.
Kite fishing rocks.
You fly a specially designed kite with release clips attached to the line.
The you put your fishing line in the clip and let the kite out.
Put your bait in the water, pick up some slack until the bait dangles straight down from the kite with the clips.
A fish strikes the bait trigering the clip releasing the line and your fighting your fish, free of obstructions.
The most natural way to fish a live bait (small fish). The bait swims on the surface of the water.
You get to see fabulous surface attacks.
That's how we catch Sailfish, the trophy fish of Florida.

Hahahaha.Sorry got carried away on a Fish rant.

O.K. in the Midwest you get yourself a cammoflage bass boat, fix it up (take off non-Marine duty caulk if necessary), then re-caulk, get yerself an electric trolling motor and battery. I like the artificial baits and use primarily a spinnerbait with plastic worm and launch onto lillypads and when it sinks the Northern Pike or Bass will bite. Now, I have an old Gar skull in my garage (it is an even pointier beak than a Northern and lives in the Mississippi along with big drum and other ancient fish. Tourists like to fish a Lindee rig with leech and spinners for Walleye as they are the best eatin' and bass are usually too fishy tasting. I have caught some Halibut like 200 lbs. that are flat like flounders, a bear to bring up and get shot in the head to land if over 100 lb but NEVER any fish at 1200 lb!!
