NOSTALGIC PSYCHEDELIC:  Well, I guess this theme keeps getting bumped as main post but more weeks left in August so I'll roll with it for now.  I don't remember which song was singled out in the youtube top ten reel that I am basing this series on, something like the title plus Oddities word I remember and maybe even novelty like last weeks post.  On that subject, I was listening to the other post last week in this series by Oh You Kids band and finally decided to pull it like building 7 and went all in on the band buying NM media copies of both their albums (not on youtube) for a proper rip over all the crackle.  I bull through these posts every weekend and sometimes keep doing the fast cuts I do because I can--not hearing the overall sound so much but did hear how bad it was on my walk man this past weekend so made the decision.  Anyways, that kind of ragtime really brings me back to the music from our old local pizza parlour Skakeys and Ciceros!  It's in my blood so had to have good copies and should be in time for my birthday this year so giving myself a treat!!!  Here is his quite remarkable Discogs write up and I am only scratching the surface with his releases:  Real Name:  Jean-Philippe Léo Smet

He was married to the french singer Sylvie Vartan from April 12, 1965 until November 4, 1980.  Father of David Hallyday

As of November 2011, he had sold more than 100 million records, and earned 40 gold records, 22 platinum records, 3 diamond records and 8 Victoires de la Musique (the French equivalent of the Grammy). 28 million spectators have attended his concerts over more than 100 tours in France and Europe. However, like most French singers and musicians, his international career never really took off. Despite some tours abroad in the 1960s and 1970s, and a concert in Las Vegas in 1996, Hallyday is virtually unknown to the public outside the French speaking world.

He recorded some 1000 songs, including a little more than a hundred self-penned titles and around 250 French adaptations of original songs in English. Especially in the beginning of his career, during the early 1960s, Hallyday built his career mostly on French adaptations of songs by his American idols.
