Da Capo - st CD 72 16

 Another fine recommendation from Josef(Austria) with this band with first song brought me in immediately with a great jam sound.  Per Discogs:  German psychedelic band from Fürth (Fuerth), early 1970s, inspired by the late 1960s US west coast scene.

They named themselves after an LP by the US psych band Love, which greatly influenced their music. The band's founding members were as follows : Peter Treiber (guitar/vocals), Peter Wiesner (bass/vocals) and Gerhard Lorenz (drums). Some times later Peter Stanek (guitar/vocals) joined the group. On drums was then Jens Deichmann who in the beginning of 1971 was replaced by Alfred Urban. Da Capo's very first gig was in 1970, on the sixth of January. In late December of 1971 they recorded their sole album at CPM-Studio, Erlangen, Germany. The recordings lasted just two days and were made in the most simple 2-track procedure. Thus their sound was true underground. The LP was issued in the beginning of 1972 and pressed in 500 copies. According to their style, late 60s West Coast, they chose California as label name. The group was deeply disappointed of the record's sound and pressing. About the half of the copies were sold on gigs, or given to friends. The remaining copies was sold to a flea market in Nuremberg. The other half of the copies were instead thrown away. In the spring of 1972 Alfred Urban left the band. In the following years he was replaced by various drummers. In 1973 Da Capo even had a keyboarder, Rainer Gallitzendörfer on Hammond organ. In 1973 or 1974 the band ceased to exist. Now the album is became a very much sought-after collectors item.
