REPOST and ADD ON:  Adding the all-time classic debut with their self titled platter which did need some pop's cut out but has great psychedelic mainstays like "Step Out Of Your Mind" or "Lipstick Traces" perhaps influencing that Greil Marcus rock 'n roll book.  Here is the discog skinny:  American rock and soul group, that was formed in 1962 and disbanded in 1970, later evolving into Rufus.  The group was formed in Cicero, Illinois as Gary & The Knight Lites. Their greatest success was the single, "Bend Me, Shape Me", which reached number five on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1968.
