REPOST and ADD ON: Brian Seattle (Guy) had posted some of their music and I gathered more from youtube per the disc titles above that have the 7 inches he posted. This was the result of my comment about them to add to the Jon-ky post here: https://jonderblog.blogspot.com/2026/04/take-that-songwriters-taking-swipes-at_15.html so here are Brian Guy's words from his posts also of the comp he posted that I added plus two more from his posts in comments:
Iron Prostate was out of New York City, and was part of the scum rock scene of the late 80's early 90's. Featuring Scott Weiss on vocals and George Tabb on guitar, Charles M. Young on bass and Mike Linn on Guitar. I have to admit I was never a big fan of The Grateful Dead so when I found this back in the 90's it was a lot of fun to dig at my hippy friends with it. I just never got what the big deal was with the Dead. I used to ask the deadheads and all they could say was,"you had to be there." Not exactly the most helpful advice. Anyway a not too bad 45 by Iron Prostate. There maybe more Iron Prostate posted later on we will see. Released in 1991 on Vital Music of New York City Enjoy, Brian Guy
Another Iron Prostate post. This is much better than the 45 from last week. "I am the King," From the Scum Rock post that I did a long time ago is on this album along with "Gilligan," and a cover of "Danny Boy," which, in my opinion is much better than say the Dropkick Murphys doing the same song. The only song on this album I really don't like is "Hellshaft." The song just seems to drone on and on and it just bores the crap out of me. Other than that if you enjoyed the scum rock movement, and I know there are those out there that do from the download numbers, here is another piece of that scene. This was released in 1991 by Skreaming Skull out of Middlesex, NJ Enjoy, Brian Guy
A lovely little comp featuring bands from New York. Iron Prostate (George Tabb on guitar), Functional Idiots, Sea Monkeys, John S. Hall and Jim Fourniadis, Fly Ashtray, Fast Lane, Acidental Potato Chip, Dogbowl, Youth Gone Mad and Rats of Unusual Size are featured in this CD released on Celluloid Records in 1993. All the songs are about the Golden State California. I think this was one of the first CDs I ever bought. Iron Prostate "Nice Tan" , Functional Idiots Fag Metal (an oath to the Hair Metal bands of the 80's and 90's, Dogbowl (Strange song about San Francisco)and Rats of Unusual Size (L.A. Woman) are the standouts, but all of the bands are pretty good. Some are more punk than others. There were a couple of other D.U.M.B. rock releases, I have a few of them, depending on how this goes over I might post them to. Enjoy, Brian Guy

I picked this CD up for really cheap many years ago in a used/discard bin, probably around 1996. Some pretty funny stuff on here. I should dig it out for a listen again.

Glad that you enjoyed the post. I have to say being a big "Gilligan's Island" fan the first time I heard the "Gilligan" song it was kind of like, "Wow his is kind of cool."
Cheers,
Brian Guy
