Lodestar - st CD 77

 Nice to hear from Josef (Vienna) again with some country type suggestions and some more end of year vinyl requests that I will post before using up my three weeks vacation time at year end.  Going to use a comment from Discogs for this one:  It's hard to believe a release this good has flown so far under the radar. These guys are real musicians and songwriters, they cover songs by civilians who aren't in the band, and that Don Williams guy (not the famous one) has the kind of wilting-flower voice that I go nuts for; a pity he sang lead on only three songs. The songs themselves are light on their feet, crisply played and clearly recorded, never musty like John Denver or plodding like some minor-label country rock I've heard. Very West Coast, but none the worse for it. My favorites are "Back on the Countryside," "Travelling Incognito," "Country Day," and the great song-for-the-life "Tie My Hands to My Legs.". pedro99 Dec 30, 2019
