Gravy Train - st CD 71 05 w (A Ballad Of) A Peaceful Man CD 71 06 -cc

COLLECTOR'S CHOICE:  Decided to pull out some from this series that will fit for Thanksgiving and these two I got from Urban Aspirines fit the bill (and as an alternative to Jethro Tull)!  Per Discogs:  Prog rock band from Lancashire, UK, formed in 1969 by guitarist/vocalist Norman Barratt. After they managed to get a contract with the famous Vertigo label their first outing aptly named Gravy Train hit the street in early 1971. Their 2nd album, by many critics and followers hailed as their best, came later that same year titled: (A Ballad Of) A Peaceful Man (December 1971). That also saw the ending of contractual obligations with Vertigo. However Dawn records signed them for another 2 albums: Second Birth was released in 1973 and Staircase To The Day in 1974.

Well you are ALL correct with the band very cool music. Feels like I have some guests for Thanksgiving with your comments and I wish you all the best. I once saw Vanilla Fudge at the St. Paul, MN Capitol building grounds play a free 4th of July show in early 2000's I think and it really was good. I had met a group who took a river boat to the show along the Mississippi River and walked up the short hill to see the show! I didn't collect them but I have files so will have to post what I have in time. Cheers!!!

Although this trio of three favorite bands is far from my own list, i appreciate it. It's original and besides i like these bands too. It's also a big plus that the Stones & Beatles aren't on it.
I think our friend is reffering to the old Fanilla Fudge albums, like the ones featured in the Cherry Red Rec. box set.
