REPOST for TERRY REID [R.I.P.]: I just saw my friend Dale T. from Otto's Chemical Lounge who saw Terry play with The Litter at The New City Opera House in 1969 he said “ I got to shake his hand when he walked offstage. I was a 17 year old stage struck kid” Dale was playing albums last night as a tribute he said /taking pictures and he has em all two more than shown . Here is a snippet from a Guitar World post on meta: Determined to forge his own path, Reid famously turned down an offer by Jimmy Page to become the lead vocalist of the band that would evolve into Led Zeppelin, as well as an offer from Ritchie Blackmore to become Deep Purple's frontman.
However, he was much more than that – in 1968, Aretha Franklin stated that the Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Terry Reid were the best talents England had to offer.
