JERRY WALLACE - To Get To You LP 72 w Comin' Home To You/I Wanna Go To Heaven LP 74 75

Going to copy word for word off back of the later album as an interesting way to market bands while showing the weather maps on TV:  Jerry Wallace....A name that's become synonymous with 'hit'  Jerry Wallace...A performer with his fans always in mind.  Jerry Wallace...A man that I'm proud to call 'my friend'.  Ever since 'Primrose Lane' in the late 50's, I've been a Jerry Wallace fan, and when I had the pleasure of being a small part in making a single out of 'If You Leave Me Tonight, I'll Cry", back in '72, I was doubly happy.  Along with being Operations Manager at one of the nation's most successful country stations, WXCL in Peoria, I do a weekend weather show on Channel 19, where I get a chance to play about 45 seconds of a song while we roll some temperatures around the nation.  The first time I played "If You Leave Me Tonight", the phones lit up at the station and the calls kept coming for nearly an hour asking about it.  I played it the next night, and the same thing happened.  Monday morning I played it on my radio show and ditto, the same thing. I picked it out of the album and the rest is history.  The only problem with having a super-hit like that is following it with another one, that is, ap problem for anyone but Jerry, who keeps on gettin' better and better.  One of the pleasures of handling the music at WXCL is getting a Jerry Wallace record.  All I can say is 'Keep 'em comin' Jerry, we love ya'.  Lee Ranson, Op. Mgr. WXCL RADIO.
