VA - VIACOMCMD FROM FRIENDS - PURE CHEMICAL tape

"Ah yes indeed it's fun time!" as the rap sample goes.  This time the mix is from my buddy Joe who is a photojournalist for TV news in MN and we met in 7th grade when our grade schools merged into the Junior High.  By nineth grade our whole class was into these type of bands and by the time we were hanging out in Lake Harriet neighborhood, Joe had a house on Brookside Ave. and brought me a flyer for the house I ended up buying right across the street from him.  This we early nineties and like last post in this series (from my buddy Fred), they both had developed a great new CD collection while I was hanging on for dear life buying only vinyl (albeit I had turned them both onto some of these bands but we all went to shows-in fact the live Descendents track is from their album that I was on the cover shot for it and fIREHOSE filmed the 'Walking The Dog' video at First Ave I was at the show).  I love all these songs and I know you will too!  Includes previously mentioned along with:  Minutemen, Meat Puppets (yes, Sam again like on Fred's tape LOL), Doug Sahm & Sons (we were all 13th Floor Elevator initiates as near our hood, Joe knew the high school art teacher's older son who lived in the basement and would float to Joe key CD's from Alex Chilton "stuff", Roky Erickson solo and the Thirteenth Floor Elevators and the 'Where The Pyramid Meets The Eye' tribute CD had just came out and we all dug it with a couple songs on this mix), Soundgarden (we were "feelin' Minnesotan" LOL--not on mix), X (Joe was a huge X fan who turned me onto them and his sister who was my eldest sister's age (and also early First Ave regulars got John and Exene's autograph on a mom & pop restaurant paper placemat when she bumped into them there), Fishbone (my second show 'Bone In the USA tour--I was a fanatic and turned them on to the band), Butthole Surfers (yep included just like Fred put on last mix and I did as well), Page & Plant, Husker Du, The Soft Boys (Fred's contribution introduced to us by him), fIREHOSE, Dread Zeppelin (Joe filmed their First Ave gig for his TV news as well as NOVA MOB in the Entry which I have posted), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Replacements, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Stone Roses (I still remember when the three of us went to another close friends cabin one weekend to ride his 3-wheeler through a dunes big bump trail in the backyard but which was made illegal but remember that refrigerator full of beer only and when we turned on the TV, soon the Stone Roses new video for 'Fools Gold' was shown and I was very excited having just bought it!), Beastie Boys and John Wesley Harding & The Good Liars.
