Bump - st CD 70 00 w Bump 2 CD 71 -cc

COLLECTOR'S CHOICE:  My vinyl collector's group uses their first album for their wallpaper.  Per Discogs:  Psychedelic rock band, formed in Detroit, Michigan, USA in 1969 (active between 1969 and 1971)  During the late 1960s Bump built a solid reputation for themselves on the touring circuit and opened shows for such as Alice Cooper, Terry Reid and others.

Formed by bassist/vocalist George Runyan and keyboardist Paul Lupien, they were later joined by drummer Jerome Greenberg and guitarist Alan Goldman. Their music blended psychedelic pop with progressive rock elements, drawing comparisons to bands like King Crimson and The Nice.

In 1970, Bump released their self-titled debut album on the Pioneer label. The album featured tracks such as "Sing Into the Wind," "Spider's Eyes," and the nearly 11-minute "Lifelines, Decisions, You Can't Even Think." Despite limited commercial success at the time, the album gained cult status over the years, leading to several reissues, including a remastered CD by Gear Fab Records in 2000.

Bump's original LP has become a collector's item, with copies fetching high prices in the resale market. According to a comment by Jerome Greenberg on Discogs, the band disbanded after recording a second album, which was never released. Greenberg later discovered that their debut album had been bootlegged and had even charted in the Netherlands.

While Bump's time in the spotlight was brief, their unique sound and the enduring appeal of their sole album have secured them a place in the annals of psychedelic rock history.
