Gary Walker & The Rain- Album No. 1 CD 68 w Natural Gas [U.K.] - st LP 76 w Joey Molland [R.I.P.]

Had to kick it into high gear this week and get this when I heard our favorite local musical transplant resident when I was in Minnesota next to Brian Setzer, Joey Molland from Badfinger had just passed away at 77.  My skater buddy Skip worked at Nate's Guitar for many years in St. Paul and Joey became a friend to my friend as he was in and out of the shop frequently.  More details in the file.  R.I.P. to a great!!!

NATURAL GAS [U.K.] - st LP 76

Per Discogs:  Natural Gas is a hard rock band from London, Greater London, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1975. The band split up in 1977.

Short-lived (one studio album) supergroup made up of Joey Molland of Badfinger, Jerry Shirley of Humble Pie, Mark Clarke of Uriah Heep / Colosseum and Peter Wood of Aardvark.
Their self-titled album was recorded at Crystal Studios in Los Angeles and was produced by legendary Mountain member Felix Papalardi, but although it was released to critical praise, their debutwould became the band's only release. Joey Molland soon-after returned to Badfinger, while Jerry Shirley would go on to work with Fastway and eventually return to Humble Pie. Mark Clarke found work with Rainbow, Billy Squier and Leslie West, while Peter Wood (who passed away in 1993) would later work with Roger Waters and Bob Dylan. The 'Natural Gas' album sadly drifted into obscurity and eventually would become a much sought after collector's item.
