ARTIE MacCLAREN AND THE MUSTANGS - The Race Is On LP 65 w May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose LP

Here's a quick request from Tony Angel--old blog follower who had a covers-only blog.  I remember a couple of these songs but didn't see on this blog when I searched.  Going to use the fine text on the back of each of these albums:  Artie and the Mustangs is the answer to skeptics who feel it is unlikely that another top country group will come out of Canada to assume international fame.  If ever big league talent existed, it shows itself in the work of this talented young singer.  Artie exhibits style, showmanship and a fantastic feel for country music, and these qualities have surprised everyone who has seen him perform.  When Artie appeared on the Carl Smith TV show on CTV recently, guest star Porter Wagoner looked up at rehearsal to see just who the 'hot' singer was.  Wagoner's appraisal of Artie's performance was "Simply great" and you'll agree when you hear these 12 great tunes.  One of these songs, 'Skip Hop and Wobble' has been charted as a leading Canadian C&W recording by RPM, Canada's music business weekly, and the other songs on this album are equally great.  It's the combination sound of Artie singing and playing 12 string guitar, plus Mickey McGivern on lead guitar and Mark McGivern on bass, that create the great sound.  When Artie MacLaren first heard little Jim Dicken's version of "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" , he said, "There's a song I've just got to do on my next album."

Thank you so much, it's kinda like christmas. And yes i did have a blog with covers only. It was to protect from being shut down. So those who knew me could email me requests as they found covers of lp's they wanted. It worked out real good for a while until blogger keep messin with the formats. And later I had a page on Internet Archives with hundreds of lp's to just download. However Internet archives keeps having trouble. So I just stopped everything all together for now. I may start something back up this year and will let everyone know. Again thank you so much for the post.
