HENRY GAFFNEY - Waiting For A Wind LP 76 w On Again Off Again CD 78

REPOST w NEW BETTER RIP:  1000 apologies and mercies for last post as first song on each side had too much data loss from my cuts due to a bad warp.  I usually don't know condition until after I clean up and then final listen so this one got to me and I quickly got one of the last copies as the songs really have grown on me and I enjoy it.  This rip is a pure sound and Yacht Rock no less!

The perfect time of year for yacht-rock too! I do not enjoy swimming and get nervous in water deeper than my bathtub so this is as close to the open ocean as I'm gonna get. Thanks.

One of my favorite not-too-well-known sailing/pirate themed tunes; "Tortuga" by Starwood:

And if you like it too...

Tortuga was written by Matthew Moore. He included it on his 1979 LP "The Sport of Guessing" which I can't find anywhere. Anybody gots?

I Have Both Matthew Moore albums! their actually available to download on his website, here's the links

He wrote "Space Captain" for Joe Cocker and his brother Daniel wrote "My Maria" for B.W. Stevenson and "Shambala" that was first cut by B.W., but turned into a hit when Three Dog Night covered it. Additionally, I'll send Daniel's album and both Starwood albums as I have both, David James Holster (of Starwood's) Solo record (which has Andrew Gold, J.D. Souther, David Sanborn, David Lindley etc.) and My version of Henry Gaffney's second record that I got from a friend who has awesome vinyl Rips because the one you got on Youtube is from a South Korean CD that sped up a bit and the person who put it on Youtube cuts off the endings quickly, I have the song with the full ending, cheers

Classic and Jon,

Before I saw Classic's comments with links (they were in spam!) I did buy the MM 79 album for $1.50 along with several other cool ones as the vendor on Discogs was having a sale so I got like a dozen albums for like $20. I noticed that file was at 192 so will be an upgrade.

Thanks again guys!

Thanks Classic! The artists own website would be the last place I would have looked. You have saved me searching for Holster's album also. A true gentleperson. Very kind.

Hey ClassicMusic20, since you had Starwood/Holster in your collection might you have another Colorado related band Fat City? I've been trying to locate their Welcome to Fat City album. I found Reincarnation at the Archive but striking out on their second. Thanks in advance if you do have it and are willing to share.

Oh, I didn't realized this is the then husband and wife duo Bill Danoff and Taffy Nivert from Starland Vocal Band first band Prior to their work with the Starland Vocal Band, I believe Fat City also help co-write and performed with John Denver on his hit "Take Me Home, Country Roads" (Great Song!)

Wow, thank you ClassicMusic20! Didn't mean for you to go on a hunt for it, but, if you're like me, the hunt is much more fun than the locating. Thanks again.

If anyone is interested here are the two albums released as Bill & Taffy, Pass It On & Aces. Pulled down from YouTube (which I now see I could have done with Fat City, doah) and ripped with a free online ripper at 192.

Apologies if I have stuck Afternoon Delight in everyone's skull.
