REPOST Request:  Hunters & Collectors are an Australian rock band formed in 1981. Fronted by founding mainstay, singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Seymour, they developed a blend of pub rock and art-funk. Originally influenced by Krautrock and productions of Conny Plank, featuring strong percussive influences, noisy guitar, and driving bass lines. Their sound was in the vein of Talking Heads' 1980 album Remain in Light. They became one of the best live acts in Australia and according to musicologist Ian McFarlane, their "great achievement was to lay bare human emotions in the intensely ritualistic milieu of the pub-rock gig".

Many thanks, as always.

One single remark - song "Stuck On You" of Human Frailty LP is missing.

Regards, D.

Many thanks dudes! Excellent stuff one can find in your vinyl cut-out mp3-bin.

Herr Donut Duck is double D.

I am D or d., yet another SST buff in this world. A bigger fan (listener!) of SST brand than Dave Lang, I dare to say.

Btw, Hunters & Collectors up to mid-1980s were very very very good.

Thank you for these early H & C gems.

My favourite track is Throw Your Arms Around Me - I've got both the '86 and '90 versions.

But I have never heard the original '84 single version. Have you got it?

Thanks for this Great Collection of H&C! Was fortunate enough to catch them live at Alexander Headland on the Queensland Sunshine Coast many years ago - a great night!

There are scans for the Judas Sheep/Eggheart 12", but no mp3s. And only 4 songs of the Fate LP. It's making the obsessive bit of me twitch (and that ain't purty). I have a lot of H&C, but I didn't have most of this!

Wanted to mention to you Holmes that 2 albums shared like half of their songs as same versions such that their should be no missing songs.

Thank you my friends!! You have really spoilt me with this fabuloso ReUp of Hunters and Collectors
I feel so lucky to have found your site. I am so tempted to seek some other similar Aussie Groups as this country really did lead this music direction for a good decade +, and there were some outstanding groups such as Midnight Oil, Crowded House, You Am I, Skyhooks,The Go-Betweens, Split Enz, The Church etc, etc. Cheers from Rixboy
