BARBARA PENNINGTON & TEMPEST - Second Thoughts LP 81 82 w The Barbara Pennington Band - st 7 81 w Beowulf - 7

Gotta say I love that Houston, TX scene that kind of got passed over except for all the 'Funky Nassau' funk scene great bands that stole the show back then.  So this was THEE band that Konstantin K was after with recent requests like last week's Snapshot featuring Julie Ivory that she added to this request with the great tune 'The Boy Is #1" to make sure I was 'buttered up' and ready to buy last copies which usually cost me slightly extra.  Ha Ha just kidding, that was a favorite of her dad's which makes sense.  Hey now about this album oh my gosh raw early heavy metal that kicks ass with impressive guitar parts and amazing singing from Barbara that sounds great on vinyl!  Could be a fave!

Ok folks update the Tempest I noticed had heat or pvc sleeves flat spots over grooves and hearing my rip on headphones it does get pretty bad so just got last copy on Discogs at a double VG+ since I dig it so stay tuned !

The Vinegrettes - is, as described on Discogs, tongue-in-cheek backing chorus name used by the Vinegar Joe vocalists.

I was very amused by this name, since in my area this is what they call a salad made from boiled potatoes, beets, carrots and sauerkraut or pickles, and this is what they call a sauce made from oil, vinegar and seasonings (according to Google). This is how we live on the same planet.

Anyway. The material is very nice!
Easy rides everyone, riders!
