Happy 2024! Here is a great compilation I was clued about on my meta vinyl group since the last Warner comp. of B-sides was so popular. Would like to know about more and I did download the complete 'Loss Leaders' comp.'s from a blog last year that I can repost here if their link is not active--using my Looney Tunes rip which was so cool to hear last year for the first time. Let me know if there other comp's after that series like the Attack of the Killer B's from last year as that was awesome. I see that later Warner label on this vinyl and I immediately think of my old favorite Husker Du 'Warehouse' double LP as I had the one before on cassette which sounded great! This one had Aztec Camera alternate versions which got my blood flowing again and a new band I will seek out called "Juluka' which reminds me of old favorite Cargo Cult type stuff. Other bands: Tim Scott (could have swore I had post one of his but no), T-Bone Burnett, Gang of 4 (!!!). Cheers to the new year...a 4 year like 1994 when alternative music peaked at festivals and edge radio heyday.

You won't be disappointed by Juluka. The song on the comp is from their 1982 album Scatterlings, their fourth but the first one available in the US (they're from South Africa). Their next US album, Stand Your Ground, had a handful of new songs but most were from their SA album Work For All. After Juluka broke up, frontman Johnny Clegg formed a new band called Savuka, which is also worth checking out. I saw Juluka at Bogart's in Cincinnati in 1983 and they were amazing. Sadly, Johnny Clegg died from pancreatic cancer in 2019; just before his passing, he co-wrote the song "Fire in the House" with his son Jesse and Nick from Walk the Moon, which is on their 2021 album Heights. Have fun exploring the roots and branches of Juluka!
Thanks and Happy New Year!

EW, Never Heard of That Band and I Like the Harmonies and the Sound, Can't Wait to See It Up. Also Viacom, Is It Okay If I Send My Own Request? This Is an Old Request I did almost a year ago But Can You Try to Get It, Please? There's only two cheap copies left of the Movin' On Album and I can't find this anywhere, I already have her first album (which is Everlasting Kind of Love, got it in the summer time) and I'll link you up to it

Also, Have You Watch the Video I linked you up with the other day? If so, What are you thoughts?
no way too busy since I got back. I got the East West but I can barely hear your Lynn file...what do you like about her? Can you send some money for it thru paypal to pjmont@goowy.com debt didn't go down with the Christmas bonus so we all gotta pitch in
You must be a big Olivia Newton-John fan...Let me be there in the morning let me be there in the night is the song it sounds like to me
Viacom, Lynn Is in that Soft Rock/Yacht Rock Vein of the 1970s, And I love a lot of that stuff from that time period, especially with the females (Carpenters, Olivia Herself, Nicolette Larson etc.) And in recent times, I've been digging into a lot of obscure yacht rock albums from the 70s that nobody has heard of and I just like the music. Also, I discovered Lynn's album through a west coast blue desert website (that list a lot of those Yacht Rock albums of the 1970s I'll link you up with it, you might like what you see on that page) And I liked the track that I heard of her, So that's why I wanted it. And another thing is Chris Christian produced her debut album (A Fellow Yacht Rock Christian Singer whom I like a lot as well and he had a Crossover hit with "I Want You, I Need You" which features Cheryl Ladd of Charlie's Angels fame providing the backgrounds) And with your Olivia Newton-John remark, There's another Christian Artist that I think of more as "the Christian Olivia Newton-John" her name is Jamie Owens-Collins (I'll link you up with one of her tracks and you'll see what I mean, her voice sounds an awful like her) And regarding Lynn Sutter's second album, it's okay, I'm Patient, When you get your money, You can get the album, no pressure (I Don't pressure you too often with albums) Also, I can try to find other ways to get the album if I can find vinyl collectors who own the album on Soulseek (the platform that I use, sometimes it’s hard because they don’t really share their rare albums and I haven’t found much users in recent times who own those “Yacht Rock” albums) And I’m not worried about Lynn too much since I have other requests that I've sent you a few months ago that you've got, but haven't put up yet, So I'm satisfied with those rather than Lynn (And I can't wait till those posts are up) And I'll send some more requests in the future when you get your money, In the meantime, I'll continue sending mp3 links of albums I discovered, cheers!!!! I remember this compilation LP, and indeed Johnny Clegg & Juluka were a highlight.
I will try to think of some of the other label comps that came out around that time.
It was a nice cheap way to check out new artists, or to pick up a hit like "Never Stop" and "Oblivious". Best wishes for the new year! Keep on rippin!
Happy New Year Jonder and E.W. Yeah ClassicMusic20 I gave a quick listen to her first you sent and could barely hear her it was so quiet and religious music trying to be trendy Yacht Rock (I don’t think they are the same in this case or ever for that matter) doesn’t ring truthful to me and is a deception I don’t partake in. I will post a really loud Jesus music post next week so you can see opposite of Lynn so you can see what I mean and prefer.
Viacom, Some tracks are calm, But if you go through the album, you will find peppier songs (Like "Make Me Smile" "It's a New Day" "Everlasting kind of Love" "Heed the Call" "Satisfaction Guaranteed" which the producer, Chris Christian recorded and "Break Out") I will check out the Jesus album you'll post up next week, And If you want to listen to peppier Jesus Music? Check out on Youtube Chris Christian (Highly recommend, check out "Fine Love" and you will see what I mean) Imperials (Late 70s/early 80s catalogue, "Finish What Ya Started" you should check out, It's quite funky) Deliverance (Canadian band from the late 70s, check out Lasting Impressions) Bruce Hibbard, Kelly Willard, Michael Omartian, Phil Keaggy etc. I think those guys are up to your alley, cheers!!!
ClassicMusic20
ClassicMusic20 check out movie “Fast, Cheap and OUT OF CONTROL” I would never actually buy most of your oil crisis stuff you ignore most of what I write to you and never comment on things I suggest just always trying to peg off stuff on your list to keep your radio show above water it seems even going so far as to lie to me and call another fetish desire artist “Yacht Rock” when it is soft Christian music which I snore and never in a million years buy it very easy to see your cheesy deceptions you beg me to buy but never put a penny into the blog when I ask you to rescue it as you use the pressure buy on me increasing my debt with more shit I will only have to pedal bike across the street to Goidwill drop off after paying my hard earned money for your list. You need to listen to other members and old posts first and not be so cute about your failings. You’ve lost my trust and are out of control. Get help cheesy man the stuff that got your duck hard were stolen by me from Goodwill which is something you have ignorantly pushed to the max with not a touch of class what a joke you are that can’t see at all just talking over everything I say back to you thinking you have some kind of gold card with me.
