The Dictators - Go Girl Crazy LP 75 w Manifest Destiny LP 77 w Bloodbrothers LP 78 w Fuck 'Em If They Can't Take A Joke CD bonus 81
PART OF THE SCOTT KEMPNER & LOU WHITNEY TRIBUTE POST: Very infuential post/punk garage band from New York City with Scott Kempner. I had all from other blogs except the Bloodbrothers album which is a new rip and I'm glad that is the one I own with great tunes on it like 'The Minnesota Strip' since I'm from MN and speaking of which the MN band I love and used to see from our MN scene Otto's Chemical Lounge also did a cover of "Slow Death" which was the very first time I had ever heard the song and here they do a long version at the end that smokes like Otto's one.

Thanks for putting these back up! The ROIR cassettes always drove me a little crazy. The first one I bought was the Television one, and to say it was lo-fi was more than an understatement.

Thank you for these but it is a bittersweet post for me. One of my best friends introduced me to The Dictators via the Manifest Destiny album. Sadly that friend past away earlier this year.

Sorry for your loss. What a very cool person your friend was to take the time to share with you, especially such a highly regarded band like the Dictators. Take care.

One to add to your collection. Dictator's "Every Day is Saturday"

A wonderful collection of oddities and demos. Surprising how close the demos are to the finished product for "Bloodbrothers."
