THE MEMBERS - At the Chelsea Nightclub LP 79 w CD bonus w The Choice is Yours CD 80 w Uprhythm, Downbeat LP 82 w Radio EP 82

REPOST and ADD ON:  This one for all the old DU members past and present at the Turkey 'big kids' table.  Adding the 79 on CD & 1980 CD to my vinyl rips from very long ago.  Great early Oi! rockers!

I once saw the Members and the Brains on a double bill in a medium size club that seated maybe 2500 and for that show there were maybe 300-400 fans present. It was the most high intensity show I ever attended. I swear those two bands had a bet going as to who could outperform the other in a relatively empty hall. Nobody that I knew at the time liked either band so therefore it looked as if I would be attending the show solo until at the last minute a volunteer, who could find nothing better to do that evening, stepped forward. That volunteer worshipped every word Bob Dylan ever uttered and had little appreciation for electrified music or even music one could dance to much less slam dance to. After we departed the concert venue and regained a bit of our hearing she looked at me and asked what bands we had just seen. The following day she purchased the Members' Uprhythm Downbeat album and proceed to wear the groove out of both sides. Great freakin' album!

Thanks. I saw The Members supporting Devo at Birmingham Odeon in 1980. Love both bands, but couldn't help feeling that they weren't a good fit.
I used to follow Nicky Tesco on Twitter, with the occasional interaction, so it was very sad to hear he passed away in Feb 2022, far too young at the age of 67.
