The Folk Song And Minstrelsy album is part of my musical DNA. I have tapes my dad made 50+ years ago that I tried to digitize, but he had mixed everything up, and some of it was either recorded badly or the tape had gone bad that it made getting a decent copy impossible. I think I have the records, or I was looking into getting them, and haven't gotten around to digitizing those.

I haven't heard the other two, but they look amazing. So thank you for this, I can't begin to say how much a good copy of Folk Song And Minstrelsy means to me.

Glad I could help EricC, you had a rich musical upbringing like me I see. Cool that you are in that field of entertainment. Some of these had groove wear and lots O' pop's to cut out but not so's you'd know it. Found a new software function after all these years of rippin' that takes care of fuzzy groove wear on this project or maybe it's hard gunk in the grooves. Anyhoo I think they turned out O.K. but like I've said before I can go back on any of my keeper vinyl like these and try to redo if any offending sounds seem evident. Hey didn't know you had the ripping ability...if you ever wanted to share something feel free to comment with it and I'll put together what I have to add to it. Cheers old friend!

The bits of Folk Song And Minstrelsy that I listened to sounded great. What software do you use?

We have three studios (of sorts) in our house. Our podcast studio, which is my main desktop plus mics and mixer. The acoustic demo studio which is home for the acoustic instruments and is also our rehearsal space. And the electronic studio downstairs, which is where the synths, electric guitars, USB turntable and USB tape deck live.

We're kinda into music in this house.

Most of what I have ripped are tapes of local bands. I spent several months two years ago going through my collection of everything I had bought in the 80s and 90s. None of these bands ever got out of Iowa.

If You Remember the Song "When I'm With You" On the Radio, Here's the Band That Gave Us That Tune Sheriff, I'm Surprise You Never Put These Guys Up on Your Blog, You Had Frozen Ghost up (the keyboard player Arnold Lanni's band) But Not Sheriff. By the way, The time you decided put this up as your own post, You Should show it to Lara Cody (Freddy Curci, The lead singer's wife) cause she loves talking about her husband stuff on Facebook, Especially Sharing Rare Sheriff Clips and music videos or live performances clips from His Other Band Alias, His Solo Material Or Videos Clips on Youtube where people are talking about Sheriff and giving trivia about them. Lara is a Voice Actress for a Lot of Japanese Anime and was an former on camera actress that did a small part as a groupie in the This Is Spinal Tap film, And she even co-written a song with Freddy called "Finally" (A Beautiful Song) Here's the Link to Sheriff, Enjoy!! EricC I use MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 2004 after I lost a later version and I think they got bought out by Sound Forge. I tried a later version but went back to my Windows 3.0 original version I got at Guitar Center when I got the full DJ package of current Numark TT100 turntable, Ortofon S-120 defunct stylus, a $20 pre-amp with crossfader that has since been replaced by a full Stanton pre-amp I got on clearance since it was missing the power cord. I guess I am not a big fan of Direct to USB rip arrangements since I turn down the line-in to the computer 29% to get rid of fuzz background then crank it up at the stylus with my now defunct (yeah they don't even sell pre-amps at the Sam Goody any more and the DJ section at Guitar Center barely keeps stock on GruvGlide which I have used since the start to up the volume and fidelity also), three different carbon brush types and $8.95 cleaner in spray bottle from Banana Records for initial cleaning @ 4 sprays per side instead of that RCA D4 which only recently now comes with a spray nozzle as before it was like two drop onto the cleaning pad which I believed was not nearly enough then found the anti-stat cleaner Banana's and never looked back.
ClassicMusic20 - thank you Sir for the Sheriff--I bought the CD right away since limited are left on Discogs. Of course you also sent it to me but hey now we can be bonded buddies and it is mellow and relaxing...yeah I remember their hit song and old ear vurm. I have posted a cassette rip of Alias that I will add to post when I do my own rip from my WAV when I get the CD. Ha ha same thing happened you feeding me a 'double' buy with next weeks Allee Willis since I found her Songwriter series vinyl rip already in blogsphere at 320 like Sheriff but hey, now I have two examples from the Songwriter series with the Richard Kerr last week which adds value to each I would say if I sell them later. We'll see if I can finally climb out of debt with this year's Christmas bonus as getting close. Then we'll see about fixing my van and restarting the insurance next year. 6 month probation starts for me next week with community service after cops forgot to put an orange cone on the sidewalk for a blockade so I almost got electrocuted by a live downed power line and averted it on my bike at last minute where cop directed me along cop car blockade but cops further down thought I had gone under the power line and I guess told me to stop but I was clearing the zone like the others told me to do. Oh well they caught me later after giving me the George Floyd treatment after I gave up followed their directions but still wratched by shoulder and I couldn't breath from hyperventilating with three of them on me getting the cuffs on for 5 minutes I was screaming. So this cost me over $2000 and more as I have to pay for probation for their mistakes. At least I found a website where I can report road issues, etc. that works last two times so I told the judge that was all I needed for next time the cops forget the cones...she didn't think it funny by hey I make it a point to invalidate and derail crooked people.

I use an M-Track Duo now. My turntable sent out a really hot signal, so I can temper that a bit. Other than that I use Audacity. It's simple and has some nice clean up tools. For the home studio we use Reaper. My wife is better with that than I am, but I'm catching up.

Ok, But just to let you know that Blog Post Of Allee's Songwriter Is a Bit Sped Up, That's Why I Asked You to Put It Up and also, I wanted to see some of the songwriting credits since at that time (Until Yesterday) I couldn't find the writing credits for some of the tracks, just making you aware. Ha ha And great to see you actually bought your own copy of Sheriff, They have an interesting story on how they never went anywhere and then broke up and did other things, and then 6 years after "When I'm With You" Various deejays started to play the track and Capitol records decided to re-release it and it became a hit 6 years later! Meanwhile, Keyboard player and main songwriter Arnold Lanni and Guitarist Wolf Hassel had Frozen Ghost and Singer Freddy Curci and Bassist Steve DeMarchi had regular jobs as cable men, but at night, they would rehearsed and write songs for their new band that eventually became Alias, during that time, Freddy got the call from Capitol Records President Duane Cameron and he told them "Your Song Is on the Charts" and he was confused and was like "We haven't even released the album yet" and Duane was like "No, Your Old Band Sheriff Is on the charts Again" and the same happened with Lanni, where his brother/manager at the time called him and said "You're not going to believe this, we have a hit!" and he was like "how that possible?" Because Frozen Ghost wrote a song 2 months earlier and they were chasing that and Arnold went "I Haven't Heard Anything" and His brother went "No, It's the Other Song" and Arnold got confused "What?" his brother went "Yeah, 'When I'm With You.'" Arnold "'When I'm With You.' What Are You Talking About?" and "When I'm With You" was one of the few hit songs (Along With Boston's "Amanda") to not have a video during the MTV Era, So because of the song being a #1 hit! Freddy and Steve wanted to bring back Sheriff and Arnold was like "Nope" and blocked them from using the "Sheriff" trademark, so Freddy and Steve focused on their new band that eventually became Alias and they the hits "More Than Words Can Say" and "Waiting for Love" And then they went away quickly and According to Freddy "We never really left, Grunge Came and our music was gone but that's okay, Music needs to do that, needs to change all of the time, that's how it stays fresh" Oh stop it Freddy! they could've combine your music with Grunge, it's the record labels fault, they could've combined your own music with grunge! they didn't have to focus on one thing, the fans never left, it was the industry. And when Alias was recording another record, the record label wanted all acoustics and focus more on Freddy, and it became more of a Freddy Curci solo record called "Dreamer's Dream" So that's some of their story.

Thank you. I have that Folk Song and Minstrely box set, but no MP3 of it. The other two are great finds.
