THE MUNSTERS - AT HOME WITH LP 21

 H  A  P  P  Y     H  A  L  L  O  W  E  E  N ! ! ! !

P.S. if anyone knows who the artist is that did an awesome cover tune of the theme song I added at the end of the tracks here from an old NYC collector who made a tape for me of rare punk singles:  D.O.A., Flesheaters, VKTMS, Halo of Flies, Stains 'Born to Die' & Fear after I found him and did a vinyl trade with after reading his add in the back of my Maximum Rock & Roll zine that I subscribed to--please let us know in the comments and I will get it labeled.

LINK REPOSTED 11-7-23 (with last song ID'd--see comments):

Man Or Astroman did a version of the Munsters theme on the Intravenous Television Continuum album.

I found a few rare punk versions of the Munsters' Theme. IDK where you posted your tape, but you can listen to these on Youtube and maybe you will recognize it.

1) The Serfs (from a 1982 split single "The Sound of DC" with the Young Caucasians):

2) The White Pigs (Hartford CT hardcore band, from a 1986 7" EP):

3) The Escalators (1983 single, UK psychobilly band with members of The Meteors):

4) Gods Will (from a 1983 compilation tape of Virginia hardcore, song #46 of 50 tracks, near the end of this hourlong video):

There's also a new wave version from 1981 by the Comateens:

Thanks guys I checked all listed and awesome but not "the one".
Here are the rare lyrics from the 1964 vinyl "At Home With The Munsters" which never aired with the show:

When you are walking down the street at night
And behind you there's no one in view
But you hear mysterious feet at night
Then Munster's are following you.

If you should meet the strange family
Just forget what some people have said
The Munster's may shake your hand clammily
But they're not necessarily dead.

Behind their house you mustn't be afraid
To see a figure digging with a spade
Perhaps someone didn't quite make the grade
With the Munsters, with the Munsters.

If when you're sleeping you dream a lot
Ghoulish nightmares parade through your head
And then you wake up and scream a lot,
Oh the Munsters are under your bed.

At midnight if creatures should prowl about,
And if vampires and vultures swoop down.
And werewolves and fiends shriek and howl about,
Oh the Munsters are out on the town.

One night I dared peek through their window screen,
My hair turned white at such a crazy scene.
Because every evening it's Halloween!
At the Munsters, at the Munsters.

It seems my included version is close to some other surf oriented versions on youtube by Surfin' Lungs & Surfquake & Los Straightjackets but not the same as my included version is more orchestrated and 'drastic' sounding almost like a traveling contraption of a hurdy-gurdy band and THEE best version IMO.
Thanks again Jonder and anon.

Oh yeah it's closer to Season 2 than Season 1 from the actual show which is not my album posted--that has a more fun 60's feel to it.

Do you remember what year you got the tape? That would narrow the search. I hope you find it! A lot of these versions have Youtube or Spotify links:

Jonder,

I had the NYC collector add a homemade cassette with rare seven inch singles to our vinyl trade and put that on the end with no label. All the seven inch singles came out in from 1978 to 1980 (I just checked) and the trade was probably in 1984 or 1985. Wish I still had his contact info. so I could ask him. I believe the 7 inch he taped of the Munster's theme was in those core years 1978-1983 and no later. Thanks for all the help on this and BTW I am astounded by the Halloween tunes you and Stinky came up with on your post this year...WOW! BTW I hadn't heard that VA comp. tape (it's like a few back in the day that I have cherished and posted) before and love White Cross especially.

WE HAVE A WINNER FOLKS!!!!!! Thanks to all who helped ID the last song by Milton DeLugg of the Munster's THEME. Chester you really came through for the blog and I have changed the title with the date and reposted the link!!!! BONUS in discovering Milton's discography in the process at Discogs....another Hayley Mills vinyl is on the way and just in the nick of time getting the last cheapo one with VG+ minimum media to save headaches and time for me with less pops to cut out by hand on my second listen per procedure. It's a movie soundtrack called "Gypsy Girl" I am so psyched!!
