What!!!! I Have Been Looking for His "Songwriter" and "Reflections Of" Albums for Awhile, I already his other few, Not this one, He's very talented! wrote the music to the original Scott English tune "Brandy" which after Clive David heard it, Forced Manilow to record it, Became "Mandy" and It Made Barry a Star, And how did Richard find out? Years after Scott's version came out, Richard had gone off to L.A. and was sitting outside of his publisher's office and he had heard this record coming from the walls and it took Richard about a minute to realize it was 'Brandy" And he couldn't hear the title change at the time and when he walked in he was like "What was that song?" and he said "That was the new Record that Clive Davis has with Barry Manilow" And Richard never heard of Barry Manilow at the time cause this was before he became big! The title was change from "Brandy" to "Mandy" by Clive Davis because of the Looking Glass song "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl") without any nod towards Scott and Richard, they didn't know and Richard was furious, you don't just change the title without asking the writer, until it shot up the charts, Richard Was Happy (I'm not into Clive Davis much, to be honest, except for Ray Parker Jr. and Alicia Keys) Richard also wrote the music to "Somewhere Down the Road" which was cut by Helen Reddy, Bardorf & Rodney and then Manilow made it into a hit! "Looks Like We Made It" also for Manilow, Richard did the original version of "I Know I'll Never Love This Way Again" then it was cut by Cheryl Ladd, never went anywhere, Cherill Rae Yates cut it, didn't go anywhere, Then (I Think) Clive Davis heard the track, wanted Manilow to record it, Manilow thought of it as a female song, gave it to Dionne Warwick and Manilow even produced it and made it into a hit! Thanks! It's Sad What happened to Teena Marie and I Heard They Couldn't Find Her Cause of Death, But She Was Suffering Seizures Towards the End of Her Life After a Large Picture Frame from a Hotel Room Fell and Struck Her Head in her sleep, I Didn't Find Out She Died Till About Several Days Days Later in the New Year of 2011 When My Mom Told Me Me.
I Just Found Out He Passed in December and Guess What the Cause Is? Nothing to See Here (As Most People Are Dying Of, If You Hadn't Notice) And There's a Video of Him on Youtube of Him Singing Live That Was Recorded Just 1 Day Before His Passing.
