I remember this band from my high school years! "%.7.0.5." used to be all over the radio when it came out. I had the 45 and played it constantly! Still love that song. It'll be interesting to hear the full albums, as I only really knew that one song.

They never recorded a bad album, but the two standouts are DAY THE EARTH CAUGHT FIRE and, towering over 'em all, DINNER AT THE RITZ - a hands-down, start-to-finish masterpiece; unfortunately released when the world was waist-deep in that punk nonsense. (Well, okay, maybe it wasn't all nonsense, but still - so many top-notch bands and musicians couldn't get their phone calls returned, and maybe the most magical era in music history - roughly '64 to '76 - had a pillow held down over its head until it had twitched its last. So, y'know, fuck punk, too.)

Must not be any fun to peak so early in one's career - it took these guys two albums to shake off their malaise and get back on the trolley with the sensational EARTH CAUGHT FIRE. (A totally-unexpected bonus is how terrific HEADS ARE ROLLING was and is - it might be the pop-savviest recording of their career, which is saying something.)

Never heard City Boy's sparsely-distributed curtain call, IT'S PERSONAL, though of course I'd love to....

FYI, the last two links for the last three albums are no longer working....(and, of course, those are the albums I've never heard...which I can't fathom why b/c I always enjoyed the band...a lot but somehow overlooked them during the busy college years..)

Hi Bruce, thanks for all the good comments. I have reposted the later two CITY BOY links just search in upper left search bar on blog (non-cell phone version) to get to the links. I didn't repost it to make sure you got the links as sometimes the links go down when too many are trying to download at the same time instead of when they should--30 days after last download. Enjoy!

Gidday Mate

Just stumbled onto your great blog and got excited when I found you had some 'Aussie' City Boy material, but alas the links have well expired. Doh!

Any chance you might have time to re-post these - even one large RAR would be great (ZIPPY will allow large file sizes now)

Here's hoping and if ya get time, please come across to my blog and see what's on offer - all links are active! https:\\rockonvinyl.blogspot.com
