John Waite - Ignition LP 82 w No Brakes LP 84 w Mask Of Smiles LP 85 w Rover's Return LP 87

REPOST and ADD-ON:  Found the Rover's Return album at Goodwill a few years back and it opens up with the tune, "These Times Are Hard For Lovers".  Has a similar scratchy voice style like Canada's Bryan Adams who I read is one of the best selling music artists of all time selling between 75-100 million records, so that might just sway you into looking at this artist.  What I wrote before:  In addition to the earlier posted 'Change' hit song you will find yet another familiar track with this recent add on rip in 'Missing You'.

There's A Video on Youtube Done by A Professional Who Does Music Theory, Talks About What's Wrong With Today's Music, and had guests like Jimmy Webb recently (The writer behind "Wichita Lineman" "Up, Up and Away" "MacArthur Park" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix") Steve Lukather (Toto) Christopher Cross and Tons of Others! He's Good at what he does! But he does this 'One Hit Wonder' Video (One from the 70s, One from the 80s) and some of the artists on there are one hit wonders! (Tommy Tutone, Soft Cell, 'Til Tuesday, Gary Numan, Devo, Jane Child, Kajagoogoo, Lipps Inc.) But He Lists Guys Like Kim Carnes as a one hit wonder with "Bette Davis Eyes" when she had other hits (Such as "More Love" "Voyeur" "I Pretend" "Crazy in the Night (Barking at Airplanes") and “Crazy in Love”) A Flock of Seagulls With "I Ran (So Far Away") (When they had other hits such as "Space Age Love Song" and "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You") Deniece Williams With "Let's Hear for the Boy" (When She Had "Free" Her Johnny Mathis Duet Which Went to #1 "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late and her other duet "You're All I Need to Get By" "I've Got the Next Dance" "Silly" and "It's Gonna Take a Miracle") and he lists John Waite as a one hit wonder with "Missing You" when he had "Change" "Every Step of the Way" and "Three Times Are Hard for Lovers") It's weird, because this guy is good what at he does on Youtube, knowing a lot about music and music theory, and so many musicians love what he does! and he's born like in the early 60s, how could a man who grew up with radio, and is good at what he does, listed these guys as 'one hit wonders? Weird! here's the two videos (the 70s and 80s) let me know what you think?

One More! I Was talking to a hardcore rock fan about music awhile ago "Missing You" came in the conversation and he was like “Ha ha, I think of ‘Missing You’ as the Most Boring and Repetitive Song of All Time' but I was like 'But I Like that song' he did however, commented saying 'That's okay, That's just me' Remember, this is the same guy that doesn't even like Eric Clapton for some reason, (I’m assuming now because he’s too bluesy for him, and he’s more of a ‘Rock and Roll Guy’) cheers!

Thanks Classic, yeah I check out both videos...Rick did say at the end "only hit I can think of" so I guess that addresses your comment. I would say from my take that this guy is kind of in a world of his own and detached from the more mainstream collective. Never ever heard of 'his favorite' (like all the songs he lists sayin that) Dave Loggins with Please Come to Boston or even Dave Mason's "hit??" We Just Disagree and who the heck has heard of Jane Child with 'Don't Wanna Fall In Love"?? Also, I'm pretty sure DEVO scored big time with another hit 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction' with their take on the Rolling Stones song. Not going to add hs channel to the sidebar but check out one I added since mentioning to you called 'Rock 'N Roll True Stories' like his recent one about Mazzy Star...I like this guy's channel over the years as he covers more closely what we have covered at DU. A big weekend of rips of all my American West vinyl so stay tuned!

Sure, No Problem! This Guy Is Good at What He Does, I Just Was Getting Confuse Why He Listed Those Guys as 'One Hit Wonders' And Oh, And Happy Belated Birthday (I Didn't Realize Your Birthday Was Yesterday) And Also, Can You Add One More Link to the Sidebar, Please? This Guy (Like You) Has Been Collecting Vinyl for Many Years and He Cleans Up the Vinyl and Digitizes It and Has Awesome Quality With His R.I.P.S! I've Gotten Some of His Albums and Sent Some to You on This Blog (Christopher Ward, Steamer) You Should Check Him Out, Here's His Blog, Cheers!!!

I Almost Forgot to Mention This! Robbie Dupree Is a Two-Hit Wonder With "Steal Away" and "Hot Rod Hearts" And Back in 2009, When VH-1 Was Doing Their "The Top 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders" Special, He Got the Call from a VH-1 Producer Saying They're Putting His Song as "The Greatest One Hit Wonder" And He Was All Confused and Was Like "But I Had Two Hits" And the Producer Tells Him "Rob...There's No Show for Two Hit Wonders" Ha ha. And Robbie Mentions That Some People Do Their Homework and Know the Difference and Their Music Fans, While Others Just Phone It in and They Only Know "Steal Away" and They Never Took a Moment for Research.
