Buffy Sainte-Marie - illuminations LP 69 19 w Sweet America LP 76

REPOST and ADD ON:  Found the 'Sweet America' album with no jacket and thought it a good one to post for the July 4th holiday so enjoy!  From Discogs: Beverly Sainte-Marie (born February 20, 1941 at Piapot Reserve in Saskatchewan, Canada) is a Cree singer-songwriter, musician, composer, visual artist, pacifist, educator, social activist, and philanthropist.

Her music might generally be categorized as folk and traditional music, though she did record one mostly country album, I'm Gonna Be a Country Girl Again, in Nashville. She also won an Oscar for co-writing "Up Where We Belong" for the "Officer And A Gentleman" film.

Been a busy week with vendors visiting from India but finally just saw this excellent youtube vid on Buffy. Coincidentally my little sister and mom had done research on our family at ancestry dot.com that my brother forwarded to me Tuesday the day after (Monday) I got Dr. Mercola's free 'interview the experts' weekly email on 23 and me selling off people's DNA to Big Pharma--we learned there was some French on our 100% Italian side...anyhoo I side with Buffy and also the family and think this problem will go away with DNA testing. She got pigeon-holed by the media, got pissed off and did something beautiful about it to bring up the Indigenous people in the process and teach kids and make beautiful music. Same deal with Trump if you want to hit up my two links on sidebar. We are up against stiff odds and best to just lie to them and move on IMO. Rock-and-rollers and folkies are rebels by nature making great change in the world that need our support just like the activists or nothing will change for the better. The deception runs so deep it turns families against each other and prevented me from seeing my father before he died on my last visit home but we had already said our goodbyes as his memory slipped away but he did mail me a his gold watch before he died with no note at all and I haven't told the rest of the family--many of whom are indoctrinated to the Mass Media narratives. I have no qualms these days communication via email with a key brother in Atlanta who copies me on info and call my mom on occasion who still mails me a $50 check on my birthday from the old folks home albeit no more Christmas tins of cookies. My little bro the base player wrote her off and the other 7 siblings as he grows a new family. Our dad was son of an alcoholic who never joined al-anon as my mom wanted and would make her cry and was abusive quite often but they kept it together as we did mostly. I have my info sources and see things improving quite rapidly but their sick world persists.

Thanks for the Compliment! Cool you've used Ancestry, I Come from an Italian Family as well (But we don't speak the Language) And about a few years ago, My Aunt Was on Ancestry and She Ended Up Finding Our Grandma's Long Lost Brother and We Soon Ended Up Finding More Details About Her and Her Family and It Was Kinda of Cool, And My Grandma's Brother Has Been Looking for Her For Many Years, Thanks to Ancestry, They've Gotten to See Each Other Again (And the last sadly, as she passed a year after) And Yeah, Regarding "Rebels" We Don't Really Have Rock 'n' Roll Rebels these days (with the exception of Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Roger Waters and Surprisingly Joe-Lynn Turner from Rainbow and Deep Purple) As most of these Rock & Rollers had became what they stood up for and Rock 'n' Roll is all about rebelling (just like that song I sent a month ago "They're Ain't No Rock 'n' Roll") Well they want World III, They want people censored, They're telling people to get vaccinated and they support the lockdowns and want people who talk differently about it to be censored, And of course, In 2020 during the election, all of these liberal musicians were telling young people to go out and vote because older people in their 60s/70s or whatever, would go and vote for the right the kind of people in the White House, while with the young people, they do whatever they want, so that's why they were telling all of these young people to go out and vote and back around a year ago, Mr. Mister, the band that sings "Broken Wings" and "Kyrie" (I Like them and their other group Pages, Might Send The Pages Albums Soon) I've been on their Facebook Page Many Times in the Past, I never seen them act so political, and out of nowhere in the Fall of Last Year, Richard Page from the band was telling people to go out and vote and he was like "The Election Was Not Fake in 2020, The Republicans Are Lying to You" And I never seen him talk that way, He sounded more conservative back in the 1980s when he was getting mad at Twisted Sister talking about the devil in their song and wanted him to provide the backup vocals and he turned them down, while today, he's sounds very liberal. Somebody mentioned to me Alice Cooper giving a good statement saying "artists shouldn't tell people who to vote, who are we to tell them." and I agree with that, We should decide ourselves and not let celebrities do our thinking, And that's called "Freedom of Choice" Thanks for your opinion on it, Cheers!!

One More: Back a Year Ago, I was talking to that hardcore rock fan that I've mentioned to you about awhile ago, in defense of the Real Music Observer Page, How a deejay from Canada is not into him cause "He's a Conspiracy Theorist, He Makes Things Up to Get Hits" which is not true, When I mentioned about how he acts like "Conspiracies theorists" are crazy people, even though its just people with opinions, whether you agree or not, He was like "But some people believe ridiculous things about aliens, Covid, jet contrails, etc Some believe the earth is flat and that we've never been to the moon or outer space. hard to deal with people who believe that" it's true there's some theorists out there that are crazy people with Aliens, Paranormal or whatever (I Don't hear any theories about the Earth Is Flat or Not Going on the Moon at all) but they're not getting mad at those people, they're getting mad at people with opinions about other issues, I did agree with him on that, but kept my mouth shut about Covid up Because I believe he believes in the covid rules (since he brought it up) Then a few months go by, when I asked him about when he was young, did he ever invited friends over to look at his album collection and he mentioned he use to have regular game night and put on a record and played some board games, he doesn't do it anymore cause of "Covid" and misses doing that, And I told him "Covid Is over things are normal again, you can do those things if you want? it's your choice." and his answer "To me it's not over. I have friends still getting sick from it and some even getting long covid. They lost their taste and smell. Since we're older I don't want to take a chance. Had it once and it was real baad for me - sick for 3 months." Yeah, My dad is going shopping a lot and he's older than this guy and he doesn't care if he catches Covid and I don't care either, I call this guy a "Scaredy-Cat " ha ha. he's a nice guy though, he did agree about with me on other issues, like "Why are they putting drag queens and trans on to kids show" or (Paraphrasing here) "Why What's Good Is Bad and Bad Is Good, doesn't make any sense" or musicians telling you who to vote for in their concerts, So he agrees with those issues but with Covid, seems like he believes in that stuff.
