what i had wrote on original post: Going to quote the early album text: "If Jack Kerouac was the poet laureate of the beat generation, nobody has spoken so eloquently on behalf of the hippie subculture as Rod McKuen--and then one on nto speak to and about the rest of America." Then regarding his classic album 'Something Beyond": "I can bring to mind only three albums of original popular music in the past several years that remain truly memorable. Henry Mancini's score for "Breakfast at Tiffany's", the first Antonio Carlos Jobim--Claus Ogerman collaboration (I have this vinyl on the way!!) and this album by Rod McKuen. An album of original music is always a bit jarring there are no familiar themes to hand on to and no snatches of melody to associate with favorite times and people. The listener is forced to consider the music for exactly what it is and for what it is giving him at that moment. With or without memory and without association of times gone by, the music in this album stands on its own. It is beautiful, literate, unusual and bears the unmistakable stamp of one of our great modern day composers, Rod McKuen". The first double album I put at the start had some bad scratches but cut out most except when words would get jumbled in meaning. That is a great double album for sure as later stuff he got more raspy until for the Sky album he used other vocalists than himself.

I can't believe it, my neighbour mentioned only last week how he liked McKuen but didn't have anything by him anymore so I started looking around for him and thought I'd ask you! Well here it is, thank you.
