HELEN O'CONNELL - THIS IS 2LP 72

Bit of a stretch for St. Paddy's Day as the name made me think 'Irish' but alas per Discogs:  American singer, actress, and dancer.

Born May 23, 1920, in Lima, Ohio, USA.

Died September 9, 1993 in San Diego, California, USA.

Helen was a popular vocalist of the 1940s Big Band era. She began her career touring with Jimmy Richards' nine-piece orchestra and joined Jimmy Dorsey's orchestra as lead female singer in 1939. With Dorsey she recorded hits such as "Green Eyes", "All of Me", "Tangerine" and was voted best female vocalist in 1940. During the 1950s, she was co-host of NBC television's "Today Show" and in the mid 1980s was married to band leader Frank De Vol. She remained active in the music business until her death from cancer in San Diego, California..
