The Model Citizens - Shift The Blame EP 79 and MODEL CITIZENS - An Ordinary Urge LP 84

BAND ONE PUNK
REPOST Request:  Quite a cool band per this Discogs write up, "Largely unknown New York new wave group that spun off some important bands when they split into The Dance and Polyrock, and a side project of The Dance backing 12 year old Chandra. John Cale produced the Model Citizens EP after he lost out on the chance to produce Television to Brian Eno. Model Citizens and its offshoots reflect an awareness of NY's minimalists - Cale played with La Monte Young's early Dream Syndicate, and Philip Glass went on to produce Polyrock. One of the highlights of the band is Eugenie Diserio's voice. There's a repetitive keyboard groove to these bands that hints at Glass and a slight dissonance but danceable groove that makes them sound fresh over 30 years later."

I really loved that Shift the Blame EP. Still have my copy, tho posting one via Soulseek that's nice & clean at 320k. Thanks for Ordinary Urge, as I'd long since given up on them ever having any more music and never knew this existed.

Awesome! Well UNKNOWN looks like good old George Leroy Tirebiter stepped in for us and got a very fine rip at our minimum preferred 320 kb/sec that I just listened to and sounds great! However, UNKNOWN the copy in the link does not have pictures of the back side or round label on each side of the 7--only cover shots. Could you take the needed pictures, post on zippyshare to get a link for us?? No account sign up is needed simply upload and they will give you a link there. Oh, happy day!

I think these are two different bands with the same name. There's no overlap in band members. NYC's Model Citizens made the EP released on John Cale's label.

The other Model Citizens were led by a guy named Danny O'Kane (aka Danny Oh). The LP was released on a Nebraska label, and they had another release on Blackberry Way Records from MPLS.

Glad you're back!
