The Sleepers - Painless Nights (Adolescent Records, 1981)
REPOST Request: From 10,000 Eyes Blog in Greece: The first one is from The Sleepers, entitled "Painless Nights" released in 1981 from Adolescent Records. The Sleepers were a short-lived group of the U.S. West Coast (specifically Palo Alto near San Fransisco), and they sprung out of the punk scene of the area with only release to be "Painless Nights", a gloomy album made by musicians inspired and passionate: Ricky Williams (vocals), Michael Belfer (guitars), Mike White (guitars), Ron MacLeod (bass) and Brian MacLeod (drums). Their music? post punk with the use of crafty and ethereal dreamy guitars almost diving through psychedelia, a great supporting rhythm section and finally the exquisite vocals by Ricky Williams (Remember him from Toiling Midgets?), at times nonchalant or melodic or crooning or screaming. Overall, this recording contains poweful songs inspired by a great company of musicians. https://krakenfiles.com/view/N90NhYGmLs/file.html
