Thanks for putting this one up! Any chance of reupping Band Aid - the original Do They Know It's Christmas? I would surely appreciate it!

Ohhhh, this song. I remember seeing it when it originally aired, and crying when Bowie and Bing sang together. Listening to this still brings tears to my eyes. It's my favorite version ever of ANY Christmas song.

Enjoy the holidays, and I will look forward to more good stuff from you in the new year! I can totally relate to the feeling that you described of being guided and formed by some of those iconic TV performances. As kids we would get on the bus Monday morning and talk about what we saw on SNL over the weekend. "Did you see Mick and Keith french kissing?" "What the hell was that Devo thing?" Bowie doing TVC15 with Klaus Nomi was another mind expander. Good times, good memories! Take care, my free.

@jonder For me, it was U2 on Tom Snyder's show on Thursday night. When I got on the bus on Friday morning, EVERYBODY was talking about "that terrific band." And then Prince on SNL -- wow, his outfit was THE topic of conversation for the next week!

Agreeing with all commenters that TV was an important part of finding cool new
music in the 1970's and early 80's.
Seeing DEVO and The Cars on "Fridays"(the show) as well as the gems on
"Night Flight" when cable TV was in its infancy. I recall being mesmerized when
I saw "Under A Blood Red Sky" on there for the first time!
Thanks to our host for posting all these goodies from the past for everyone to share!
Have a Great Holiday Season and a Wonderful New Year!!
