Being a big fan of love ballads, his music isn't too mellow for me! I still have my 45 records of his big hit "Bluer Than Blue," and I still listen to it. He had a fantastic voice.

I have much respect for Mr. Johnson. Met him years ago after a show. We conversed a bit and since he had no crew with him I offered to assist with his gear. Surprisingly, he said ok, so I have a nice memory of helping pack up and his trusting me to carry his favored guitar and load it out into his car. He impressed me as a person and to everyone as an awesome and unique musical talent with a distinctively soothing voice. He had a lot to say in a gentle way.
So thanks to you for sharing this and helping the music to live on!

very warm lp rip i discarded the cd and get this,,
