VA - MARTY THAU PRESENTS 2 X 5 LP 80

 Gonna begin this great week of vinyl rips at the blog with a compilation that covers the real core of what I post in the past with such great artists as Fleshtones, Revelons, Bloodless Pharaohs, Comateens and Student Teachers.  Now, if I just knew who Marty Thau is??? Sounds like an interesting guy.

Thau was an A&R guy. He later managed The New York Dolls.

The Bloodless Pharaohs was a band that included Brian Setzer of The Stray Cats

THANKS BigDogDave and George Leroy Tirebiter,

I've seen your helpful comments before and I will get you both up on the contributors sidebar. I will post some New York Dolls soon as I have lots from blogs and one lone vinyl I got at Goodwill.

Marty Thau started Red Star records which put out Suicide's classic first album as well as 45's by the Fleshtones, Real Kids, and Walter Steding. Quite an important guy who was an essential part of early New York/CBGB punk scene.

The Fleshtones' original studio version of "Shadow Line"? I only know the live version from "URGH-A Music War" double Lps set. Thank you very much...

@Classicmusic20

Steve,

Great to "meet" you. Been an admirer of your work for some time. I'd be delighted if you'd post it or send it to me.

Hi Classicmusic20,
You don't ever have to ask me, the librarian around here if I want additional related music for a post because always the answer will be yes. That is how we made the blog here.
