VA - National Geographic Society Presents The Music Of Scotland LP 74

Since I have posted near all of my mom's favorite albums here at the blog, it is only fitting to post my dad's favorite vinyl even though he only had a few.  This was by far the most played album (side 1 especially) that he played since he associated with this major part of his history and traced our Scotch/Irish/English roots back to an Irish plantation.  At his 75th birthday he told me the Irish plantation overlords were usually Scottish but sometimes Norwegian, so that could be our roots.  His joke was that the Vikings gave up their conquering ways when they met the Irish women of the plantation.  Ha ha.  At any rate, he participated at the Scottish Fair almost every year at Macalister college in MN and loved the bagpipes.  He would say, "I admire one who loves the 'pipes but was not born in Scotland!!".  R.I.P. Donald Eugene, my father, you were a class act and fine prof. teacher and this album by itself is mainly the reason I am such a music lover and blog it all today.
