REPOST Request: Another great Philly band like the Vel's. Got's to thank the regulars at the blog who comment freely and check the recent comment to see why... Joey's niece just found the old post that has been reposted a few times and will tell Joey's daughter that people really love his music (R.I.P. Joey). Here is what I wrote last time per the comment (thanks again!): Glad some people are discovering this deceased Philly artist as quite good and produced by Blondie's Jimmy Destri!

good one...he was a Philly guy, and i played in bands with guys who knew him.....Blondie's Jimmy Destri produced and played on this, but i believe Joey died of a drug overdose in the 90's...good pop stuff, thanks!

This is one of my all-time favorite albums!
It is nice to see that I'm not the only Joey Wilson fan.
I discovered Joey while watching Don Kirschner's Rock Concert.
Don showed two Joey Wilson videos ("If You Don't Want My Love" and "Underground") and I was HOOKED!
I went out and bought the album the next day!

I absolutely love this album. I was still very young when this was originally released, so I didn't discover him until I got much older .I'm just sorry he never got to put out more stuff, Going Up is absolute gold. I have the mp3's, and play them quite often .

Thank you so much for sharing this great album! many years ago i visited my favorite record store and they played this record, thought it sounded great so i bought it and loved the complete album! A couple of years later i found it in a used record store and bought it just to be shure to have another copy when i worned out the first one.......
