REPOST Request: What I wrote before: Well this entire collection beyond two I had to buy where a windfall find at God's Own Goodwill, all in mint condition. Yeah, I suppose it would happen to me the lucky Patrick with a father proud of his Scotch/Irish/English heritage who would sing me his Irish jigs and reels as I would dance to them as a young child and it always seemed to be my special day on St. Patrick's day so I guess I have an early ear for it. This band goes way beyond the Planxty or some others with amazing creative force and song writing and the early albums sounding like a good prog band capturing those frequencies like on the first ELP record.

Thanks very much for this lovely collection. A couple of things: Below The Salt is the best thing they ever recorded, and Martin Carthy should never have been allowed to go anywhere near an electric guitar! Thanks again

OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU FOR THIS POST! I ADORE Steeleye Span. I used to get laughed at ALL THE TIME when I was a kid for listening to what my friends referred to as "boring music," but I've always loved this band and Fairport Convention. Folk rock is, in my humble opinion, one of THE BEST and most enduring genres of music. It lifts you up when you're feeling down, and it cradles you gently when you need a good cry. It says a lot that this band is still around and making vital, interesting music today. Long live Steeleye Span!
Anyone who's not familiar with this band should DOWNLOAD THIS MUSIC. Your ears will thank you. Really. I'm not kidding.
