MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER - Fresh Aire V LP 83
Well, this here album albeit not Christmas is by a band that does primarily Christmas music helped me by its top edge sound to troubleshoot two problems in the new stylus needle replacement tip I bought last week. First issue was when I run the WAV to MP3 freeware with 15 albums worth of songs, it takes a lot from my computer memory and I recall breaking from routine and moving files around during its processing so that fudges half the posts right there--missing bits etc. Zoooh, I redid most of that--one at at time this weekend so go look for those files and redownload. A handful of the good ones I'm keeping like Sgt. Pepper's, Jupiter Menace, Star Trek and The Electric Prunes I will redo in the new year. Then by playing this I determined the new needle tip was defective on certain songs with heavy mid-range so I was able to swap it at the local Sam Ash store this weekend and you will hear the fine results above such as with Fancy and EIEIO and Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme! Enjoy!
I'll add that my music history seems structured what with my first vinyl album I bought was AC/DC - Back in Black, my first CD was Roy Orbison - Black and White and now my testor vinyl album for new stylus tips is this black album...you could say Chip Davis to the rescue!! I passed on a free Cluster album too after hearing it to save time as I got all the Krautrock I want already on CD rips from other blogs and it sounded too boring compared to good old C.W. McCall's (Chip Davis) similar stuff which gives so much more. My work partner is from Enid, O.K. and see's him every year. He said he used some of Chip's music as demo's when he sold car stereo systems.
