Peculiar and original, simply one of the best records of all time and featuring some of the best musician of their era. Unfortunately this is the short American release. Look for Avalanche, their double LP containing both the LPs they released from that recording session with Peter Hamill. A must have.
Anonymous said... Avalanche is simply one of the best record of all times, a singluar masterpiece of the post punk era that went totally under the radar. I had the privilege to see them live when they opened for Peter Gabriel on his 1980 tour of this third album. Calling Random Hold underrated is an understatement. Burn the buildings is ok, and honestly better today than when I thought of it when it came out. It's just that at that point David Ferguson (RIP) had taken control of the music, David Rodes had left to be part of the Peter Gabriel band full time and the magic was gone. 3 years later David Ferguson who's always been vocal about his dislike of Peter Hamill production of the first album, released a 3rd album with only him remaining so he could have total and complet control with a new hired signer and called the project 'Nine Ways To Win'. If you ever listen to this record you will be happy that Ferguson did not have his way with the first album!!! Mediocre and cliché is the best qualification for it. But you make up your own mind of course. Not a request, but rather a suggestion.

This one for you ClassicMusic20. I know you want trendy Yacht Rock for your radio but calling soft Christian rock by that genre just to get me to buy something won't work and never putting a penny of your own money for anything while using pressure buy to make me buy the last one on Discogs is lame for lame music my Goodwill steals are Sanctified.as R.L. Burnside used to say live.

Thanks for posting this, used to have it years ago. Their guitarist David Rhodes left to work with Peter Gabriel after Peter heard "Ecteteraville"
I don't suppose you've got the second and third albums 'The View From Here' and 'Burn The Buildings'?
I was surprised that Bill MacCormick was the bass player (loved his work on 801 Live). I'd never heard of these guys before.
Any chance of a re-up? I have all their stuff on vinyl, but no CDs
please,update the link
