This one threw me for a loop thinking it was per the title and since it was recorded at some University...well a pleasant surprise of pop music with female vocals at just the right pace.

This is actually 10,000 Maniacs. It's their second full-length album (the first was called "Human Conflict Number One"). A lot of the songs on this were redone for their next album, "The Wishing Chair." I was shocked when I first heard this, because it doesn't sound ANYTHING like Natalie Merchant singing! But it IS her. This isn't the original cover, but a re-released version. But it IS the same album -- a friend of mine who's a Maniacs fanatic has both the original and the re-release on vinyl. Thanks for posting this, I've heard it several times but never had my own copy. Now I do!
