Mark, this wasn't a UK band, they were German, from Bonn.
I'm not sure if they're the same as the Petticoat (without 's') who did a Johnny Moped cover on the Zick Zack label (a single called 'Crash')

From London came the queen of cool, miss Stef Petticoat, who released this magnificent jewel in 1980 before she moved to Berlin where she kept running the band for quite some time.
