Whoa, this was the first time I actually noticed (weirdly since I have owned this in the past) but the characters (like Ronald Reagan head) on the chess pieces are drawn by a famous Swedish news illustrator (forgot his name, embarrassingly) who draw lots of iconic cold war stuff in the 1980s for magazines etc. I actually did some sort of essay on him in like 8th class at school and last time at my mum's house I noticed that I still have the coffeetable with the artists' drawings including the ones stolen by Strebers here.
lots of spelling mistakes there...I meant "coffeetable book" of course...
