hm, do I hate reggae? no. do I hate religion? yes! why do I hate religion? cause I live in bavaria! and as matter of fact religion has nothing to do with peace and harmony as you can easily see in all the religious motivated wars that have been waged through the centuries! I had a discussion with a catholic priest some weeks ago and he defended the inquisition as something positive as it was the first time somebody that was accused of a crime was questioned before he was convicted! I believe that all religions are full of shit! the exception to the rule would be satanism as in A.S. LaVey`s Church Of Satan and Buddhism! you know reggae is just not my cup of coffee musicwise but the difference between the rastafari shit and mistreat isn´t that big in my eyes! both are preaching stupidity but while the rastafaris call it love the others call it racial supremacy (the christians loved the witches so much - they burnt them at the stake to safe them from eternal scorching in flames! and I´m quite sure those mistreat blokes would name their love for race and country as a reason for their hate!) I basically hate 2 things stupidity and cowardice and so I dislike reggae and hate the rastafari shit as I consider hating somebody cause of his homosexuality as stupid as hating somebody for his black skin! and not being the punk scene or part of that is no excuse! but I´ll admit that many people think that I´m to radical in my hate for religion (and that I´d dig mistreat more than reggae MUSICWISE! hehehe)
anyway I fell flattered that you think I´m a good person as slaughtering holy cows is one of my favorite hobbies most people think I´m an asshole which is fine with me as I think most people are idiots anyway ;-)!

I like dub more than reggie unless that is a total oxymoron (Or perhaps I am just a moron?).

I've never been to England so I can't say good or bad.Here isn't as great as you'd think once you live here for a while.
Sure the weather is warm.I'd say it's usually just plain hot as hell.
No fun dealing with hurricanes either and living here generally means getting the same skin as the alligators.
No matter where you go,everyplace has it's ups and downs.

Mark, Im' curious on how you once got trapped in that NS bullshit. I've seen a lot of punks (the loud-mouthed mohawk types)changing to boneheads. I could never understand this. Well, most were not too intelligent anyway and just want to be part of a group. Punk wasn't angry and hateful enough I guess.

not much into to ska until a friend gave me a cd of Los Calzones from Argentina, i knew nothing about them and i liked every single song there was in this cd (Frecuencia extrema)
but then,the last song was the national anthem of Argentina and i was let down and i got rid of these guys

Ska is the worst shit EVER. Especially nu-ska bands that are seen to be punk by people who don't know about punk.
(I admit that I have moved a foot or two to the Specials as well as Operation Ivy but that was due to youth and ignorance and if I would moved again to such dirge it would be because of nostalgia).
On the NS front, I have to admitt that I like Skrewdriver. But all the other hate rock bands are just boring.....

Ska to me is ultra boring.The same repetitive beat...In every stinkin song!
Reggae:Mighty Diamonds,Mikey Dread,Peter Tosh,Gregory Issacs,Barrington Levy...I could go on & on.
When I was in Jamaica I got turned onto Dancehall Stylee.Thats cool stuff,at least the older mid-80's stuff was.
The people there were so nice too.You can't beat a place with bars that serve the spliff along with Red Stripe Beer :)

Great discussion going on here all for an Itals post. Mr. Underground you have a cool thing happening with this site. Music is such a cool thing in it's many forms because it would sure suck if it all sounded the same. Except for opera and musicals (which maybe I just don't understand), I can't think of any genre of music I don't like at least one tune from. What's cool is that you have people trying to be creative, sometimes with success, coming from their own little place filled with all kinds of emotions, biases, and prejudices. They can choose to put that shit into their music or not, that's up to them. It's up to us whether or not we choose to listen to it. Do we suck it up and just take it for what it is or dig deep until we can find something wrong with it. I can't tell you how many assholes I've met that play good music. Who's to say that the favorite band you listen to doesn't have a wife beater, a child molester, a fag basher and a cannibal in it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you either like the sound or not, like the lyrics or not. Nobody is forcing that shit down your throat. Like RKL says "Keep Laughing".

Yes I am not trying to make some sort of validation of Ian Schtuewhead here, as if I would try to say that he can sing very nicely. I just like his voice, your cat or mine might be better singers (my cat might even be nazi, or the reverse kind since he is black).
Some people like The Clash, I hate em. When it comes to such lame rock I prefer Skrewdriver. That's all. But I hate lame rock.
