Wow. Thanks. Hope it works out re: vinyls. And happy new years too you.
ps. on a supremely selfish egoistical note, i'd suggest that you don't post wma files - they suck frankly! and people like me on Mac need to convert them to use and it is very annoying. ds
Agreed on WMA's they are a bummer. Anyhoo, happy new year, Mark. Hey, have you considered buying one of those Griffin iMics? They are basically a cheap Mbox type of deal to interface a computer with any kind of device with a headphone out. I use one to rip cassettes to mp3. They cost around $30 and come with all the necessary software. Very easy to use for us geezers.
Hey thanks for the heads up on the Griffin iMics Aesop,I'll look into that.
Sorry for the WMA's
I thought they were mp3's.
I'm still trying to figure out my new pc.Only had it for a month and it's a big differance from what I was running.
Switched from windows 98 to Vista.
Guess I'll have to sit down and actually READ the manual to see what this thing CAN do.
Pretty sure I can connect sterio componants directly to it...
LOL! Reading manuals will take you nowhere!!! Trial and error is the key - press some random things and see what happens!!
If you are using iTunes for your music then al you need is go to settings and make sure that all files are mp3s -the application will also convert all wma files for you at the same time.
hey- ill d/l these Star Club tracks & see what info i can gatehr up for you,ok? im a freak of their 1977~1983 stuff, and still keep tabs on what theyre up to to this day.
btw, DO NOT USE WINDOWS to rip your stuff to MP3S !!! total load of "built-in" crap that automatically adds like 2 seconds of silence to the tracks, bad default bit-rates = terrible quality.it pretty much automatically "glitches" stuff. bad stuff!!
i use a free program called CD_EX . you can get it at download.com & its literally put your cd into your player,& 2 clicks later you got fine quality MP3s ready to upload.
personally, i love having the stuff in WMA as i have a windows PC for the time being. nothing like "lossless" audio!! but ill guarantee you my next computer purchase will DEFINATELY be a Mac cos if im gonna shell out a paycheck or 2 on a computer, i want something that works!!
