Electric Six - First Ave 2 Shows first album mp4

Since Nathan Nothin' digitized my Electric Six CD for me just a day ago on his blog here https://nathannothinsez.blogspot.com/2026/05/danger-electric-fire.html it inspired me to gather my old youtube camera MP4 short videos for them and make a couple of posts for the big Memorial Day weekend!  You can see not the best quality but people sure liked the handful I posted on the channel back then (there are two shows but first show not dated but closer to the stage as these two are above).the other show was October 26, 2008.  Some short outtakes in this folder I am posting but did gather all I had from First Ave days.  I did see them almost every time they were in town because I would dance and not film later shows with my two first house neighborhood friends who were sisters from Kalamazoo, MI renting across the street from my old 1926 house next to my friend Joe whose VIACOMCMD comp he made for me among others was just posted a couple of weeks ago.  I do miss seeing these regular shows by them who were regular weekly top 7 Radio K superstars!!!

 Well, still waiting for a PC solution for my busted up old rip computer after 9000 rips...we'll see.  So I wanted to pull out the Last Scream release since they just had a repressing and always liked the long stoner type song structure D.O.A. and Jello were experimenting with to launch into the 90's for a perfect fit at the time then came the soul type Manchester bands like Stone Roses, Charlatans U.K., etc.  Found some other stuff from blogging over the years that I'm sure you will enjoy!  (left off the nudy cover of his solo 7).  The video I stitched together from one of Longy's old posts at defunct punkfriction blog.

VA - Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture "Groove" - A Wishful Mix CD 00 w MP4

 Really loved this movie when it came out during the Millenium transition and was getting into weekly drug-free raves at a big coffee shop on East Lake Street MN with my 'little sister' Raven who I had met at a show one day and she got me a driver job for the goth band 'Vampyre' in the same neighborhood.  I remember thee big New Year's Eve party off Loring Park that we all spent together at the start of 2000 to get it on right!  In the thick of the rave wave I remember a guy from Dallas who moved to our Uptown area telling me about rave's in TX out in the middle of nowhere with thousands of people and the complete futility of the police efforts to control the situation which continued well into the night.  No way they could haul away that many rebels!  Love that kind of stuff.  Hoping my new PC I get this week will work to get me back on track for rips in time for Mardi Gras.  Found the CD at Goodwill but had stream captured the DVD long ago both of which I don't need my PC for but since I use my laptop on safe mode as that too is seeing the years catching up eventually.

Well I had never heard of Jerry Butler until I moved down to Florida and my buddy Antonio from Rocket Star Record store had acquired the rest of an old stores collection having these three vinyl.  Then not long ago, I found all these VHS at Goodwill for a PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) old TV special in at least 8 parts based out of Pittsburgh (I live by the Pirates spring training field so maybe that is why I got lucky and found this stuff) hosted mainly by Jerry Butler.  He has been around since the 50's in music but the stuff I found is excellent soul from the 70's mainly.  I spent half a day this past weekend on side one but I had to get his 'famous' one Mr. Dream Merchant into minty shape. Thus no CD's this week.  Tons of soul/bebop/r'N b artists that I have posted in the past show up.

Marlene Dietrich - The Song Of Songs (2 short clips) (1932)

It seems we have a small contingent of 1930's fans from the post below.  Well, I had just stream captured this classic movie and really liked this song she sings so thought it belonged here.  Marlene Dietrich is listed as the first sex symbol in movies and she made over 50 films.  In 1991 my first year working after college I went to our German factory with four others to learn and launch a new product line of AC Drives having the new 1980's inverter technology and we hung out one night at a bar in Berlin on the famous Kudamm near our hotel and watched a German band quite enthusiastically sing a cover of 'Johnny B. Goode' so maybe hinting to us about Marlene's 'Oh Johnny' song shown here...such a classic...a Song Of Songs in my book the way she sings it!

Here is the final statue smashing scene to give some perspective on the first clip.  Her boyfriend had made a deal with a rich baron to let him marry her after she had fell in love with Lionel Atkins.

NOVA MOB 7-29-1994 at the 7th Street Entry - Grant Hart Tribute

REPOST Request:  Here is what I wrote before:  Want to post a special video highlighting Grant Hart (R.I.P.) and his talented band Nova Mob.  We used to see them quite regularly at their home club First Ave/7th St. in Minneapolis.  It is TV news footage used for a story at the time so keep that in mind as it is not perfect except for sound is great but just too good to stay off the air when they took down my channel.  I give it as a present to the fans as I made the MPG and it was a very popular post before my channel takedown with 3 copyrt strikes.   An addendum I will add that this blog and my inputs to it are a direct result of Grants taste in stocking the Cheapo Records store in St. Paul where he worked and where I started buying every record that looked good with my unemployment money.

Some Urban Wildlife - Red Fox

This is an old top video from my defunct Youtube channel and used to get a lot of comments and views.  A friend, Pal Shazar who sings for Slow Children and who is now married to Jules Shear from Jules and the Polar Bears who both are making some fantastic music right now, had asked me for this video, so I brought it in today for share.  I was out of breath and whistling at the fox who was near its den and protective with some howls but got friendly at the end when I was not a threat to it...part of that right-brain dominant period in my life.

Can Someone Help Me To Identify This Band??

Here is what I know about this, it is from a VHS I got from my little sister's old boyfriend of a band he really liked--I thought it was Too Much Joy but not sure now.  What happened however is that I accidentally recorded over the tape with HIS band doing a practice (in darker lighting and no sound) keeping the part of the original unknown band images interspersed keeping their audio.  Kind of weird because his practice band looks a lot like the unknown band!  Anyway someone please ID it.
