GURU GURU - UFO CD 70 - cc

COLLECTOR'S CHOICE:  Last post of the G's for this series with below and a fine steering back into German Krautrock per the Discogs:  German Krautrock band formed in 1968 by former The Irene Schweizer Trio musicians Mani Neumeier (drums) and Uli Trepte (bass) as Guru Guru Groove in Heidelberg.

They started as a political and satirical Rock band and quickly had contacts with other contemporary bands as Amon Düül and Tangerine Dream. After they first only wanted to perform live, they recorded their debut album in 1970. Starting with the follow-up album in 1971, they had a cooperation with producer Conny Plank. In the time after, the line-up changed many times, but the band stayed active until the 2020's

THE SYMPHONIE-ORCHESTER GRAUNKE cond. by KURT GRAUNKE w CAMARATA AHO [Narrated by John Witty] [by Benjamin Britten] LP 69

This one threw me as I had it in the kids music section and it DOES have a BIG COMIC with GREAT ART inside as part of the gatefold but alas is just classical.  And on that note it DOES HAVE "The Young Person's Guide To The Orchestra" on the whole of side 2 discussing the different instruments.  Per Discogs:  German composer and conductor (20 September 1915 - 05 June 2005), founder in 1945 of the Symphonie-Orchester Graunke, which he led until 1989, it was then renamed to Münchner Symphoniker.

The Vampires' Sound Incorporation - Psychedelic Dance Party CD 69 w Vampyros Lesbos (Sexadelic Dance Party) CD -cc

COLLECTOR'S CHOICE:  As mentioned below, I pulled out a couple in this series out of alphabetical order to try to match the Halloween holiday on Friday.  These two releases kind of overlap but you probably all the songs on youtube for it as this one is long expired in the blogsphere and sound just as good as the 1969 might be from vinyl methinks.  Per Discogs:  An obscure German 1960's psychedelic exploitation band, the project of soundtrack composer Manfred Hübler, and notable for featuring Sigi Schwab, aptly playing a music of that eccentric Wolfgang Dauner Quintett "Oimels" style, yet so much more chic and clichéd, sometimes towards Okko's "Sitar & Electronics" realms.

ELOY - st CD 71 w Inside CD 73 w Floating CD 74 w Power And The Passion CD 75 w Dawn CD 76 w Ocean CD 77 w Live CD 78 w Silent Cries & Mighty Echoes CD 79 w Colors CD 80 w The Singles & Rarities CD 91

REPOST Request:  Basically just added the Urban Aspirines (Thank You Kosta!!!!) posts to my old Ocean post.  This is just the first half of what this band released to more to go.  Per Discogs:  German progressive rock band formed in Hannover in 1969. They took their name from H.G. Wells' "The Time Machine", and sci-fi elements feature in much of their music, particularly the mid-to-late 1970's concept albums.

In their early days Eloy played a heavy rock, at first influenced by British bands like Deep Purple or Uriah Heep, and then increasingly took on influences from Pink Floyd, mixed in with what became the distinctive Eloy sound.

Eloy (due to many line-up changes) became the project of front man Frank Bornemann, and basically four different bands during their history. Eloy went on to be one of the most internationally successful of German progressive rock bands born out of the Krautrock era.

JAMES LAST And The American Patrol - The Big Beat Folk Sounds Of Old Germany LP w Non Stop Dancing 1972 LP w Polka Party LP 72 w Well Kept Secret LP 75 w James Last Band - Seduction LP 80

REPOST and ADD ON:  Thought I would rip my final two albums from Goodwill for this famous German artist after Richard commented for Roger Whitaker the other week that Roger could have been listed as German having spent so much time there.  Going to use a comment from James post before to describe him:  He is one of the most known german artists in the easy listening category (sometimes called "Fahrstuhlmusik" :-). He died in 2015, having sold (and even selling) millions of billions of records.                      https://bestfile.io/en/FksIhwaPrw1zayq/file

Alphaville - Forever Young LP 84 w Afternoons In Utopia LP 86 w The Breathtaking Blue LP 89

REPOST Request:  Always a classic band for repost.  Per Discogs:  Alphaville is a German synth-pop band centered around vocalist Marian Gold (Hartwig Schierbaum), formed in 1982 in Münster. Started out as a trio with Gold backed by synth players Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens.

At the end of '81, Gold and Lloyd (Frank would come in not long afterwards) took part in a concert with 5 other artists, as Nelson Community.

Initially the band name was Forever Young, however, after a few months they changed the name inspired by Jean-Luc Godard's film: Alphaville "the city of the future". Which, incidentally, represented even better their whole project.

Mertens left the band in late 1984 and was replaced by Ricky Echolette (Wolfgang Neuhaus), in early 1985.

The band is still active today, playing new concerts and also promoting re-mastered re-releases of their first albums.

REPOST Request:  Well they had only asked for the first Atlantis album which was a bad vinyl copy I had so I had to "pull it" just like that owner of building 7 and the other two said and since I have already brought it home you will have to go by the pictures shown for what is included within which is substantial.  I had no idea!!

In 1975, they were joined by lead singer James Hopkins-Harrison, who gave them their signature sound for the remainder of their recording career.
