Here It is (Just Like I Promised Awhile Ago) the Band That Was Pre Mr. Mister, Pages! Very different than Mr. Mister, As These Guys Are More "Jazz Fusion/Soft Rock" While Mr. Mister is more "80s Pop/Rock New Wave" Pages Never Went Anywhere in their heyday (And They Only Had One Charted Single That Was on the charts Around This Time, December 1979 with "I Do Believe in You" but only at #83 sadly, it should've been bigger!) But Nowadays, Pages Have Gained a Cult Following in Japan/Sweden and Among Yacht Rock Lovers, Cause This in that "Yacht Rock" Category and They Love That Type of Music. Anyways, Enjoy This During Your Time Off, Merry Christmas!!

@ClassicMusic20 - Dang, forgot about Pages. Thanks. Hey, since you're in Canada let me ask your opinion (no profiling here, nope). Many, oh too many, years ago I heard a song I quite enjoyed by Valdy and the Hometown Band. I have no idea what the song was titled and have had little luck locating his material. Do you have any recommendations?

Also, since you were such a marvelous source of the obscure in the Wha-Koo post, might you have the Jesse Frederick album (Bearsville, 1971). Found that he wrote and sang a few sitcom TV theme songs (i.e. Perfect Strangers which I am currently revisiting as I lay me down to sleep) and now I'm interested in hearing more from him.

And, one final request directed at Viacomclosedmedown, Would you be kind enough to repost the David Geddes album sometime next year?

Thanks for the Myrick's.

Wishing everyone a great and safe holiday season.

Jon, Funny you were asking me about Jesse Frederick. For several years, I had his album on my iTunes Want-List and Was planning on getting it the next time I listen to it, I've listen to it on XBoxMusic around that time and his voice sounds totally different than the theme songs he sang. Also Viacom, Since you bought the LP, Would you mind getting this single of Jesse, I have the A-Side (found it on some website) Can't find the B-Side, Thanks! (gave the link to the seller because most of them have a Double A-Side)

Also, just to throw some trivia, Pages (before they released music) were Andy Gibb's backup band back when he first came to the scene and they were on tour with him and appeared on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert with him!

(Note: Viacom, Valdy Was part of the Christmas Jam album that you posted a couple years back, I'll put a link to that as well so you don't have to search on your computer to re-post it, since I got it from you the time you had it up) Cheers!!!

@Viacomclosedmedown - Hey! Quit spending money on this stuff, somebody is bound to have it and if not then it couldn't have been that good in the first place! Fix your van. But, thanks. Appreciate it.

Jon,
Thanks, I don't hear that enough. Went all in w the album and two 7 per Classic's link (to avoid the double A-side as you know that happened to me once) I just liked the song titles on the album and was a good year in music so I bit. Hoping the year end bonus will help with my issues. Right now it's nice to see the gas prices go down well below $3.00 (when it's not the usual time before a November election). I'm telling all my electric bike brothers and sisters to my pedal bike personal power that we are the ones getting that gas price lowered with our demand spikes on fuel. Keep it up!

David Soul, The Star from Starsky and Hutch Has Recently Passed. As a Tribute, I Would Send All Five of His Records and Notes: Even Though He's considered to be a one hit wonder with "Don't Give Up on Us" he actually had three hits! "Don't Give Up on Us" "Silver Lady" (A Top 20 hit on the Adult Contemporary Charts and a #1 hit in the UK) and "Going With My Eyes Open" (A #14 Hit on the Adult Contemporary Charts and a #2 Hit in the UK) His Third album (Band of Friends) was only Released in the UK, Japan, Australia, Argentina and Venezuela) His fourth album (The Best Days of My Life) was only released in the UK, Japan, South Korea, Australasia, Venezuela and the Netherlands, and his last record (Leave a Light On...) Was only released in Switzerland and on his own label dAP Records! Lots of talent on some of those records! The first one from '76 has Nicky Hopkins (whose played with everybody from the Rolling Stones to the Who and whatever) and Amanda McBroom (writer of Bette Midler's "The Rose") wrote one of the tracks (Ex-Lover) His second (Playing to an Audience of One) has Richard Page from the bands Pages and Mr. Mister, His third one (Band of Friends) features Jimmy Hodder (whose on the other two records as well and was Steely Dan's Drummer) Victor Feldman (also Steely Dan) Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Again, Steely Dan and also the Doobie Brothers and was the one who brought Michael McDonald to the band) Tom Scott (Another Steely connection as he provided that memorable horns that are used on "Peg") Amanda McBroom Again, George S. Clinton (No, Not the George Clinton from Parliament/Funkadelic, Some White guy with the same name and please? don't believe the link discogs gives you, it’s not the George Clinton, wrong guy. This George S. Clinton went on to become a movie composer and went on to do the scores for the Austin Powers Films) The fourth record (The Best Days of My Life) David is doing some covers of tracks that were done by Graham Nash, Paul Williams, Richard Kerr’s “I Can’t Afford the Feeling Anymore” and Robbie Patton’s “Distant Shores” (which was co-written by Jonathan Cain from Journey) and his last record from 1997 features some tracks that were written by Albert Hammond, Diane Warren, Steve Kipner and Alex Call from the band Clover. Anyways, Enjoy these links and have a great new year!!

This link corresponds to the Del-Lords entry from December 11, 2023.
It would be interesting to recover the original, which includes albums like Frontier Days and others. Thank you very much.
